Registered un-incorporated charity established by trust deed on 20 March 1997.

By personal invitation of the Chairman following names put forward at a Board of Trustees’ Meeting.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objects of the charity
-
The advancement of the Evangelical Christian Faith.

The relief of persons who are in conditions of need, hardship, sickness, or distress as a result of local, national or international disaster, or by reason of their social and economic circumstances.

The advancement of education, to encourage persons to improve their life skills and employment through college training and other forms of training.

To carry out such other charitable activities as the Trustees may determine at its absolute discretion.
Strategy

By supplying funding to the Kamutuuza site in Uganda to support the children's education through sponsorship schemes and maintenance support for the site infrastructure.

By supplying funding to the Kitwe nursery school to support the children's education, and maintenance and development support for the site infrastructure.

At the end of this financial year, the first trustee visit since the Covid pandemic began in March 2020 was able to take place. It was a blessing to see the children again and see how the work was developing at both sites.
PUBLIC BENEFIT, ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Public benefit
The Board of Trustees have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit and report that the work that has been undertaken in Uganda continues to provide much benefit to the citizens there.

Activities in the UK
The Covid pandemic during this financial period has again meant that visits to churches and other organisations have had to be curtailed, but communication with supporters has been maintained through personal contacts, email and social media.
Activities in Uganda

During this financial year, the Ugandan government only allowed some limited time at school for the higher classes. The lower classes in the Primary and Nursery schools lost virtually 2 years of education. Schools were finally allowed to fully re-open in January 2022 and all children had to be promoted 1 year in school regardless of how much time they had spent in the class, so that space was created for a new intake of children. This was a major challenge for both teaching staff and pupils as the curriculum studies that had been lost were expected to be caught up during 2022 as well as teaching the normal curriculum for the year. Despite these difficulties the Kamutuuza students achieved good results in their school leaving exams. These results continued the good performance achieved at the schools over several years.

During this year again, Just Care was able to give some support to the Evelyn’s home sponsored children and their families by delivering food to their homes to help alleviate the hardships that the lockdown created.

The nursery school at Kitwe village re-opened in January 2022 after losing two full school years. There was a new intake of children and numbers attending soon grew again. Some feeding support for the neediest families in the village took place as funds were donated for that purpose.
FINANCIAL REVIEW, INVESTMENT POLICIES AND RESERVES
There is no formal reserves policy in place, however the charity retains adequate funds for the sponsorship schemes so that reasonable notice could be given to the Kamutuuza schools if the charity were no longer able to continue providing support. Support of the sponsorship schemes remained strong again throughout the year. Undesignated income received is allocated to the Uganda general fund.
The trustees continue to be grateful to all who support Just Care through financial giving.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT Report lo the Iruslees of Just Care, chanty number 1063998. on the accounts of the Just Care charity for the year ended 31 March 2022, which are set out on pages 4 10 7. I report to the trustees on my examination of the ac¢ounls of the above charity for the year ended 3110312022. Res onslbillties and basis of rg orL As the charity's Iruslees, you are responsible for the prepafalion of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011. I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under seciion 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under seGlion 14515llb) of the Act. Inde endent Examinees statement I have completed my examination. I confimi that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me Cause lo believe that in, any material respect.. the accounting records were not kept in aecordance with section 130 of the Charities Act.. or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records.. or the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements conceming the fom and conlenl of accounts sel out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination lo which attention should be drawn in this report in order lo enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. 1 Basis of preparation
- 1.1 Basis of accounting
These accounts have been prepared on the basis of historic cost in accordance with
Accounting and Reporting by Charities – Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP 2005); and with Accounting standards and the Charities Act.
- 1.2 Change in basis of accounting
There has been no change to the accounting policies (valuation rules and methods of accounting) since last year.
- 1.3 Changes to previous accounts
No changes have been made to accounts for previous years.
2 Accounting Policies
Incoming Resources

2.1 Recognition of incoming resources These are included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SoFA) when:

·•••••• the charity becomes entitled to the resources;

·•••••• the trustees are virtually certain they will receive the resources; and

·•••••• the monetary value can be measured with sufficient reliability.

2.2 Tax reclaims on donations under gift aid scheme Incoming resources from tax reclaims are included in the SoFA at the same time as the gift to which they relate.

2.3 Volunteer help
The value of any voluntary help received is not included in the accounts.
- 2.4 Investment income This is included in the accounts when received.
Expenditure and Liabilities
2.5 Liability recognition Liabilities are recognised as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to pay out resources.
2.6 Governance costs
Includes the costs of trustee meetings and trustees' indemnity insurance.
- 2.7 Support Costs Includes administrative costs
