Achievements and performance
The charity has been proud to support the research and monitoring of the
cetacean populations around the Anglesey coast. The core objectives
around this work are as follows:
1. Monitoring the numbers and locations of cetacean populations in order
to gain valuable knowledge of the health of our marine environment, and
insight into the effects of chemical pollution, noise disturbance, over-
fishing, accidental capture in fishing gear and climate change.
2. Involving the public in scientific monitoring
3. Raising awareness and understanding of marine mammals and the
threats they face.
4. Educating, informing and advising for better environmental protection
The charity has continued its sponsorship of a student from Anglesey
studying at Pearson College, Canada through the UK charitable
organisation, The United World Colleges (International). Pearson
College's mission is to make education a force to unite people, nations
and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. The student is on a two-
year pre-university International Baccalaureate course.
