The charity's activities are primarily centred around the geographical
areas in which the charity has specific interest, those areas being
Anglesey, Wales and Boumemouth and Christchurch. England.
The trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in
the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when
reviewing the charity's aims and objectives.
The charity has, for exarnple, in the last year made grants relating to the
research and monitoring of cetacean populations and the condition of
their habitats around the Anglesey coast. Other grants in the
geographical areas of specific interest have also been made.

Achievements and performance
The charity has been proud to support the research and monitoring of the
tacean populations around the Anglesey coast. The core objectives
around this work are as follows:
1. Monitoring the numbers and locations of cetacean populations in order
to gain valuable knowledge of the health of our marine environment, and
insight into the effects of chemical pollution, noise disturbance, over-
fishing, accidental capture in fishing gear and climate change.
2. Involving the public in scientific monitoring.
3. Raising awareness and understanding of marine mammals and the
threats they face.
4. Educating, informing and advising for better environmental protection.
The charity has continued its sponsorship of a student from Anglesey
studying at Pearson College. Canada. Pearson College's mission is to
rnake education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace
and a sustainable future. The student is on a two-year pre-university
International Baccalaureate course.

during the year
The charity has donated to Bangor University to support the operations of
the Institute for the Study of Welsh Estates (ISWE). This donation will be
used to fund 2 PhD researchers, to be employed as Associates for two
days a week.
The charity has also made donations to the National Garden Scheme
and local churches.
