The charity's activities are primarily ntred around the geographical
areas in which the charity has spectfic interest. those areas being
Anglesey, Wales and Boumemouth and Christchurch. England.
The trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in
the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when
reviewing the charitls aims and objectives.
The Gharity has. for example, in the last year made grants relating to the
research and monitoring of r£tacean populations and the condition of
their habitats around the Anglesey coast. Other grants in the
geographical areas of spectfic interest have also been made.

Achievements and performance
The charity has been proud to support the research and monitoring of the
Cetaan populations around the Anglesey coast. The core objectives
around this Work are as follows:
1. Monitoring the numbers and locations of t8¢ean populations in order
to gain valuable knowledge of the health of our marine environment, and
insight into the effects of chemical pollution. noise disturt)ance, over-
fishing. acadental capture in fishing gear and dimate change.
2. Involving the public in scientific monitoring.
3. Raising awareness and understanding of marine mammals and the
threats they face.
4. Educating. infomiing and advising for better environmentsl protection.

during the year
The charity has continued its sponsorship of a student from Anglesey
studwng at Pearson College. Canada. Pèarson College's mission is to
make education a force lo unite people. nations and cultures for pea
and a sustainable fulure. The student is on a two-year pre-university
Inlemational Baccalaureate course.

outside of a specific grant being made and these are not multi-year

## **Independent Examiner's Report**
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Meyrick Charitable Trust (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 March 2023.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner's statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
1 accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2 the accounts d0 not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
