The main charitable activities were the provision of education to boys and girls from the ages of 11 to 18 through the independent school Ampleforth College.
Objects: The Objects of the Charity are for the public benefit:• The education of children and young persons, in accordance with the doctrines and principles of the Roman Catholic faith and the tradition and the spirit of the Rule of St Benedict;• The support of the Community, in order to further its ability to promote education; • The advancement of the Roman Catholic faith; and• Such other charitable purposes in connection with the advancement of education which are in accordance with the general aims of the Abbey Trust and of the Roman Catholic faith as the Trustees think fit from time to time.
