## Nantgwyn Baptist Chapel

## Aims and Purposes

The Fellowship at Nantgwyn Baptist Chapel, led by our Minister, Reverend Simon Facer, aim to reach out to the surrounding Community, to share with them the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of our heavenly Father.

## Objectives and Activities

Our objective is to honour our Lord in our service of Him, and to glorify Him alone.

The Sunday morning service is a time when we gather together around the preaching of the Word, and express our praise and worship to the Lord in song and prayer.

On Wednesday evening we meet around God’s Word for study and prayer.

We have words to the songs and hymns displayed a large screen in the Chapel, and they are led by our organist or by our guitar group, who practice on a Wednesday evening before Bible Study.

## Achievements and Performance

We are a chapel in Mid-Wales with a membership of 15. We love the Lord Jesus Christ, and long for people to see the good news of His gospel in what we say and what we do. Since employing a full-time minister in 2021 (Rev. Simon Facer) we have engaged in several outreach ideas: activities specifically aimed at engaging the local community. These have included things like BBQ's. meals, quizzes, open-mic nights, walks, & bonfires.

Once a month we take a service in a local Rhayader care home, called Bryngwy. This is for those who are now unable to attend services because of health. It is a hymn service with prayer, Bible reading, and a short message; and is very well received.

We have taken opportunities to help our local community, and the wider world, by taking up collections for the food bank and the Ukraine and Middle East crisis’s and the local CiW primary school.

Every year we have a joint chapels Carol service at Pant y Dwr hall, this is done with Bwlch y Sarnau Baptist Church and Sychnant Presbyterian Church. It is usually very well attended.

This year we coordinated with Bethel Baptist in Rhayader, and Bwlch Y Sarnau Baptist to host a tent mission together - a children’s club over three mornings. This was very encouraging, and is something we hope to continue doing in the future.

Pastoral care is provided to the Community as the needs arise and there is always a warm welcome to any services. A cuppa and a chat after the morning service is a time to share fellowship and get to know any newcomers.

## Financial review

Our audited accounts are attached. We greatly benefit from two properties, one which we rent out, the other we hope to sell. They are both older buildings and require maintenance. The main Chapel building is in general good repair. We have completed renewing the kitchen area this time last year which has enabled us to facilitate more Fellowship meals, e.g. a thank you meal for the workers, and our post Christmas meal.

## Reserves Policy

A reserve account - C.O.I.F charity account - is held for maintenance work and repairs on the main chapel building and services.

## Volunteers

We would like to thank all our volunteers who work hard in helping our pastor with activities, those who keep our Chapel clean and in good order. Also for our organist and musicians, and those on the flower rota.
