## **Chairs Report – AGM 1[st] October 2025** The Friends of Castle Hill is a charity that raises money to support our school and the kids who go here. This year we’ve completely smashed it – raising over £25,000! That’s a huge achievement and it’s all thanks to everyone who volunteered, donated, or came along to support our events. We couldn’t have done it without you. But it’s not just about the fundraising – we also want to bring parents, carers, and teachers together and build a real sense of community around the school. This bit has been harder. Meetings are often quiet, the same small group of people step up each time, and most of the heavy lifting ends up falling to the committee. We’d _love_ to see more faces get involved – even if it’s just helping out for an hour or popping to a meeting with a fundraising idea. The more of us that muck in, the easier (and more fun!) it all becomes. If everyone helped just once this year, it would make such a big di�erence. At the moment, the enthusiasm of our regular volunteers is carrying things – but it won’t last forever without a bit more backup from the wider school community. That said, this year’s events ran more smoothly than ever. Now that we’ve got some experience under our belt, we were able to tweak things and make them even better. We ran 11 events and raised just over £6,500 in profit – and they went down brilliantly. A highlight was definitely the 3 Peaks of Brockworth, which was bigger and better than last year with more people taking part and more money raised. Thanks to Gloucester Chiropractors sponsoring the costs, every penny went straight to the cause. Big shoutout as well to the Benefact Group sta� who joined in and supported us through their company scheme. On top of that, we were awarded two grants that allowed us to replace the shed, set up a second-hand uniform shop, and (soon) give a neglected bit of playground a makeover. We’ve also been awarded two more grants for the same project, which will come through next school year. Huge thanks to Aviva, Nationwide, the Clive Richards Foundation, and The Guinness Partnership for their amazing support. Our fundraising has allowed us to pay for everything that the school requested totalling almost £5000. We have subsidised swimming lessons, music lessons and school trips. We purchased the year 6 leavers books and paid for the food and an ice cream van for their leavers party. We contributed towards forest school and purchasing new library books. We provided prizes for the Christmas party and bought new Christmas decorations and a tree to put in the hall. Behind the scenes, the committee has also been putting new policies and procedures in place to keep things running smoothly and safely. At the end of the day, everything we do is for the school and its pupils – so keeping open communication with the school and making sure their needs are met will always be our top priority. I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/08 /2025 As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **Responsibilities and basis** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the **of report** Act”).
