## **Achievements and Performance**

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|Hall, working closely with the Norton Parish<br>Council (the custodian trustee) have sought<br>grants from local authorities and charitable<br>trusts to provide money to enlarge,<br>refurbish and improve the hall.  The Parish<br>Council successfully applied for a Public<br>Works Loan (£500,000) to provide the<br>money for the bulk of the project.  A major<br>programme of works was carried out under<br>the direction of the committee and a local<br>architect: this was completed in October<br>2024.  Building work necessitated closure<br>of the hall from September 2023 until<br>September 2024**.**An important objective<br>was to improve thermal insulation and<br>provide solar electricity generation to<br>improve the environmental impact of use of<br>the building**.**Apart from snagging, the work<br>is now finished and the hall is providing<br>much improved facilities for Norton’s<br>inhabitants, including a café that is<br>anticipated will be an informal meeting hub<br>for local people**.**|
