INTrODucnoN
The Trustees submit the Trustees. Report and unaudtted financial statements forthe year ended
31 December 2022. The charity registration number is 1062623. The Trustees confirm that the
Tru5tees' Report and financial statements have been prepared so as to conform to the Governing
Document dated 7 April 1997. The Charities Att 2011 and The Charities SORP IFRS1021. The Trustees
consider that the Char¥ty is exempt from the requirement for an aud5t. but that an independent
examination is required.
In preparing the Tru5tees' Report and finandal statements, theTru5tees have paid due regard to
Section 17151 of the 2011 Chartties Act concerning public benefit guidance.

AIMS AND mANAGEMEr￿ OF CHRISTIAN RESPONSE
Objects of the charfty
The objects of the charity are to provlde relief to disadvantaged and vulnerable people living in
Eastern Europe through the support of donations received from individua15 and or8anisations in the
UK. In practice the charl￿S maln areas of work during 2022 were Moldova and Ukraine.
Help is given by supporting families. churchÈ£ and medical organisations through financial gifts,
tskÉng humanitarian aid. and setting up projects to provide longtemi benefrts and independence. It
is also given through arranging for special medical diagnosis and treatment here in the United
Kingdom.

Key management personnel
The trustees consider thatthe Board of Trustees are the key management personnel of the
charity in charge of directing and controlling the charity and its day-to-day operation. All
trustees give their time freely and no trustee is remunerated. Details of expenses and related
party transartions are shown in notes 7 and 8. Each trustee has visited Moldova in the past. and
during 2022 Hugh Scudder visited Ukrdine, a5 well a5 Moldova, on 2 occasions. Therefore. the
trustees have understandinB of the needs of the families and or8anisations that cr2ee sUPPOrts.
REVIEW OF AcnvmES DURING 2022
Areas of artlvlty
In recent years cr2ee'5 primaryfocu5 has been helping disadvantsged and vulnerable people In
Moldova. In March 2022, a Ukraine Appeal was set up in response to the Russian war in Ukraine in
order to help the laree numbers of Ukrainian refugees fleeing to Moldova. Subsequently, cr2ee has
been a150 providin8 humanitarian aid to displaced Ukrainians through 50me churches in Ukraine.

Response of supporters
There was a massive response from the public and cr2ee's existing SUPPOrters to the Ukraine Appeal.
because of the impact5 Of the war in Ukraine. The supporter5 continued to donate for needs in
Moldova and responded to the extra needs of Moldovans due to high inftation. As a result. £272k in
monetary donation5 linduding Gift Aid refunds) was received, which 15 much greater than the £87k
received in 2021.
roioney sent to Eastem Eurnpe
During 2022 money was sent each month via trusted local partnerchurches and trusted indlvlduals
to help di53dvantsged and vulnerable people in Eastern Europe. Atotal of £199k of monetsry grants
was sent to Moldova. Ukraine and Romania. This far exceeded the £92k sent in 2021.
Flnancial gifts and family support boxes sponsored by famllles here in the UK were given to over 200
families in Moldova. Some of the money was used to buy animals or seeds to encourage people to
grow their own food. or buy wood to help them keep warm in the cold winterweather which can
drop as low as-20°C, or p3y for medical fees or education. Money was also used to suptx)rt soup
kitchens lin Balti, Orhei, Chiperceni, and Borceag) and chlldren's homes, and to provlde
accommodation for homeless families to live in.
cr2ee obtains si8ned receipts from each of its partners to corkfirm right use of the fvnds that have
been sent and photographs of projects. Also. frequent on-line contsrt 15 maintained to keep aware
of the needs and how the aid was being distributed.

Humanltsrian aid trucks
In addition to monetary support, 7 humanitarian aid trucks. fvlly laden with beddin& clothin& food.
toiletries and other humanltarlan goods were sent to Eastern Europe. In total 89 tonnes of aid was
delivered- 2 truck-loads to Moldova contained goods prim3rily for Ukrainian refugees, 3 trips went
to Ukraine. and 2 contained aid for Moldova- the December truck included 42LK) Chrlstmas
shoeboxes for Moldovan children.

One of cr2ee's trustees. Hugh Scudder, visited Moldova and Ukraine twice lin Aprivmay and In
August/5eptemberl to better understand the needs of people, see first-hand the work being done by
the charivs partner5. and be assured that supporterg money is being used appropriately. Most
importantly, the personal visits help to build on the excellent relationships cr2ee has with the
hundreds of familres helped in Moldova. This personal contact is very important and builds trust with
the disadvantaged and vulnerable.
Supportln8 actlvlties
There were 6 trustees. meetings during 2022. which were held on-line to save travelling costs.
During the year the finances were managed, the Ukraine Appeal was established. the delivery of
money and hurnanitarian aid to Moldova and Ukraine was monttored, and the charitys policies were
reviewed.
cr2ee held six online News and Prayer meeting5 to inform supporters of latest Issues in Moldova and
Ukraine. and to pray.
Five newsletters (February, March, April, May and September) were distributed to over 300
supporters to keep them informed of the work of the charity. In addition, a summary of the 2021
Annual Report and an update on the Ukraine Appeal were sent to supporters in September. News
items were also published on cr2ee's Facebook page and website.

Fundralslng
The funding of the charity is provided through regular and occasional gifts from Indlvlduals and
organisations a5 a result of personal wntact with the charitys many 5UPPQrter5 and through the
many presentation5 that are given throughout the year. Some supporters organise ¢offee mornlngs
and other events in support of the charity. In 2022, many new supporters donated to the Ukraine
Appeal. cr2ee is very grateful to all donors.

Supporters
The trustees are very gftteful to a large number of people who supported the charlty through their
financial giving and giving of ald. and the many volunteer5 who assist with the collertion and 50rtin8
of the humanitartan aid and medical supplie5. There are also those who give their time loading the
lorries. All the work is carried out by voluntsers.
The sending of such a large Quantity of humanltarian aid good5 in 2022 was achieved by the
wonderful support of many volunteers who freely gave a lot of time. sometimes dairy. transportlng
aid to the storage facility. sorting of the aid. and loading the trucks. cr2ee could not have done anv
of this withouttheir wonderful team of volunteers.
Organlsatlons
Duringthe yearthere has been generous SUPPOrt by churches. charitable trusts, companies, schools
and other organi5ations who have given both financial donations and goodsJseNices for distribution
In Moldova or Ukralne. The provision of vehicles for collection and moving of goods here in the UK
and warehousing for the collection and sorting of Humanitarian aid and medical supplies 15 greatly
appreciated.
Warehousln8 and haulage
cr2ee 15 very grateful to a supporter for the use of premises known as Yhe Old Acorn Kindergarten.
ExmoLrth" for the receiving and 50rting of humanttarian aid. The premises have enabled cr2ee to
safely sort and store goods before despatch by lorry to Eastern Europe.
The tremendou5 willingness of the Romanian driver enabled the transport of humanttarian aid from
the store in Exmouth to a war zone in Ukraine on 3 occasions. in addition to deliveries to the usual
destination in Moldova.

The trustee5 have considered the requirement5 to be of benefftto the publlc ès required bythe
Chartty Commission. They are satisfied that the current activities as listed above are for the beneflt
of many needy famllles and individua15 in Eastern Europe. and so meet those requirements.
Income and expendlture
The main aim of the trust is to raise funds tor distribution to families and or8anisations in Eastern
Europe and to assist improvements In the standards of living and independence of the very poor
people in that a￿3. During this year the charity received a total of £271k12021- E87kl from general
dor¢ations. intluding Gift Aid tax refunds. and £24k12021: £7kl in donated goods. The large increases
above the previous year resulted from the Ukraine Appeal.

Reserve$ Pollcy
Reserves are the resour￿5 of the trust that can be made available to spend for all or any of the
trust's purposes On￿ it has met its commitments and covered its Other planned expenditure. The
current aim is to maintain a minimum level of £40k reserves in hand: this is equivalent to three
months of expendtture. The reserves held by the charity on 3tst December 2022 amounted to
£120k.

Basis of Accounting
The financlal ststements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in
accordance with applicable atcountinE Standards and Statement of Recommended Practice
Charities SORP {FRS1021.
IncoTne and Expenditure
Voluntary Income including legacies is accounted for on receipt, but expenditure is
accounted for when the liability is incurred.
Tax Refunds
Tax refunds arise out of the receipt of donation5 by way of Gift Aid. Credit IS taken in the
accounts forthese refunds when the underlying gift is received. and allocated to the area
designated for eath Eift.

Depreclatlon and Fixed A55ets
Fixed assets a￿ capitalised at cost #nd depreciation Is calculated so as to write off the cost
of the assets over their effective useful lives. Only assets costing in extess of £250 are
