ACHIEVEMEMfs AND PERFORMANCE
Another disappointing year for the Plaza, with attendance5 only reaching 86,OCKI admissions. The Plaza is still
suffering the effects of COVID when different platforms of film viewing became very popular. Dlstributors
such as Disney, once the bread and butter of cinema attendances has now mainly gone to Disney + with only
a few films released for theatrlcal and only for a very short period of time before they are shown on their
streamin8 platform. The issue of good films has also been hindered from the after effect of the writerfs
strike, with very little new produrt coming to theatres. The Plaza has had to look at new revenue streams
and have partnered wlth a number of Independent organlsations wlshing to showcase their work on the big
screen. The National Theatre Live has also produced a number of successful screenings of thelr theatre work.
This has proved extremely popular with sell out screenings. We are plannlng to do more screenin8S With
them in the next financial year. The Plaza Is also looking at bringing new experiences with the screenings of
Opera and Ballet hopefully in the next financial year. Extra income streams with regards to schools and
community groups have been very popular with record screenings in December. Although audiences have
been disappointing we still continue to sell out for the Christmas specials 'EIV and 'lt's a Wonderful Llfe, wlth
Elf selllng out wlthln 30 mlnutes of the tlckets golng live. The Plaza 80's have a150 proved to be a tremendous
success, with audiences of up to 500 coming in for some of the screenings. The Trustees would Ilke to thank
Nick Garland for bringing such a wonderful event to the Plaza.

Trustees Annual Report
We have also seen a great response to patrons wanting to join the Plaza 100 club which has now surpassed
100 and has been renamed the Plaza 100 Club +.
The Plaza Support shop has done tremendously well, with some record months of donations and taklngs, we
still require more volunteers so we are constantly on a volunteer recruitment drive. The staff at the shop
does a fantastic job and the Trustees would like to recognize the fantastic increase in revenue.
The Wurlitzer Organ is still proving to be a real issue, with constant new problems arising. mainly due to bad
storage that the organ was kept in prior to coming to the Plaza. the Trustees are hoping that the latter half
of 2024 with see a significant move forward with the works and they are working closely with Peter Barnes
Organ restorer to get a finally date for completion.
The Trustees are constantly looking at ways to improve the cinema experience and have plans to refurbish
all the seating over the coming year. There are also plans for new ceilings betr4een the foyer areas of screens
1 & 2 and the foyer area of Screen 3. with new art deco features being part of the new ceilings.
The Arts and Education department continues to produce some wonderful and outstanding projects Wtthin
the local community and is well supported by funders with young and old wishing to tske part.
The Trustees would like to thank all the staff for their tremendous support for the Plaza throughout the year
and also a big thank you for all those wonderful volunteers who have also supported us this year, without
their help the Plaza could not survive. We are pleased to report that the volunteer base contlnues to grow.
