The Trustces submit their annual rcport and the financial statements of The Joron Charitable Trust (the
Charity.) for the Vear eiid¢d 31 March 2025. The Trustckns confinn that the annual report and thc financial
sL2tements of the Charits. comply ivith the provisions of the Stat¢ment of Recommendcd Prnctice
{SOIIP), applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the applicablc law and the
(United Kingdom Gcnernlly Accepted Accounting Practice).
History, objectives and activities of the Charity
Thc Joron Charitable Trust is constituted under a Trust Deed dated 4 April 1997 and is a charity
registered w'ith the Charitv Commission for England and Wales.
The objects of thc Charity arc to make grants for gener￿ charitable purposes. There We￿ no restricted
funds held during the year, or at 31 March 2025.
The Charitv dcrives its income from grants received, which is then used to fund grants to other
registered charitablc organisations, as defined below.
Management and governance arrangements
The Trustees arc shown on page l. Th¢ Tnistccs arc appoint¢d in accordancc Th'ith the tcmis of thc Trust
Dccd. Thcrc w¢rc no cmployccs during thc ycar. Thc Trust Dccd Provides for a minimum of thrce and
a maximum of four Trustees. Where therc is a requiremcnt for new trust¢cs, thcsc arL' identified and
appointed by the remaining Trustces. Appropriat¢ ongoing trustee training is undertaken when
considered nccessary. The Trust¢¢s hav¢ significant experience of engaging with medical, educational
and intcrnational charities.
The Trustecs have reviewed th¢ major strategic and opcrational risks. which the Charity f&es and
LX>nfirni tliat svstems are in place so that steps can be 13kcn to Icssen thcs¢ risks.
Public benefit
Th¥ main purpose of thc Trust is to hclp provide support to those ￿h0 would benefit from the tcaching
of socia] and communicatioii skills and to the funding of suff¢r¢rs with disabling and teminal discascs.

when revicwing the Trust's aim5 and objectives, in planning future activitics: and setting the grdnt
making policy for the year.
Procedures and policy for grant rnaking
Thc Charitv s policv is to makc grants to rcgistcred charities in th¢ fields of education, medical rescarch
and other chantics that can demonstrate that thL grants ii'ill bc used effcctivcly.
There is no formal grant application proccdure. During the year grants and donations 18 (2024-13) were
made totalling £817.500 (2024 - £1,195.671).
Details are set out on pages 13 - 15 of the financial statements.
Achievements And perform ance of the Charity
The bencfits of the Trust's w'otk are the teaching and development of educational, social and
communication progrdmmes. Sce iiote 6 for full list of donations made in th¢ year. During the ￿'¢ar the
Trust continued to support charities wkn'ch th¢ Trustees believed were able to demonstrate that they
could utilise thc funds effectively.

Financial review, investment policy and reserves
The Trust's M'ork fis entirel) reliant on income from donations. During the vear. donations of £940,000
(2024 £1.175,000) were received from Ravensale Limited. This company is controlled bv a trust
whose principal beneficiari¢s the Jarvis family (see note 9). The Charitv expects to receive the
majority of its futur¢ donations from this source.
The current investment policv is to rctsin all availablc funds on bank deposit. Intcrest rcceived on bank
deposits amounted to £ 2,156 (2024 - £6.071) in the !'&v. Foreign exchang¢ gain amounted to NIL
(2024 - NIL) in the year. At 31 March 2025, the Charity's cash balance, which was unrestncted.
amountcd to £1 81.642 (2024 £66,488). At 31 MaTch 2025, the Charity's unrestricted funds were
£181,642 (2024 - £56,198) No support costs are incurred bv the Charity, with minimal governance
costs. Consequentlv, subsLintially all funds receivcd are available for distribution to grantees.
Therefore, the trustces do not consider it n¢cessary' to ￿tal'n reserves in the Charity..
Future Plans
The Charity, plans to continu¢ supporting local, national and intcmational charities. The Charity will in
future continue to support thosc charities which the Trust¢es f¢¢1 are organised to utilisc funds in an
effectivc way.
Trustees, Responsibilities Statement
The Trustecs are rcsponsible for preparing thc Trustees, report and the financial statcments in
accordancc with applicable law and United Kingdom Accouiiting Standards (United Kingdom
Generally AccL'pted Accounting Ptactice).
The law applicable to chariti¢s in England & Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements
for ¢ach financial year which give a tru¢ and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the

l. Accounting policies
a) Basis of preparation of financial statements
The financial statements hav¢ been prcpared in accordanc¢ with the Statement of Recommcnded
Practice (SORP), 'Accounting and Rcporting bN' Charities
publishcd in Octob¢r 2019 and effective
from l January. 2019, and th¢ Chan'ties Act 2011 and applicatr)Ic regulations.
Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise
stated in the relevant accounting policy.
(b) Public Benefit
The Joron Charitable Trust meets the definition of a public benefit entity undcr FRS 102.
(c) Don&tions and Legacies
Donations receivable are includcd on reccipt of the funds or when there is a binding obligation that the
Charity is entitled to thc grant.
All income is recogniscd once the charity has entitl¢rnent to the incomc, it is probable that the income
will be receivcd and the amount of income receivablc can be measured rcliably.
(d) Investments
Investment income is accounted for in the period in which thc Charity is entitled to receipt.
(e) GrAnts pAyable
Grants payable are includcd on payment of the funds or where there is a binding obligation on the
charity to make the payment of the grnnt. Grants offered subject to conditions which have not been met
at the Year End are noted as a commitment, not accrucd as expenditure.
(fj Allocation of support and governance costs.
Costs are included on an accruals basis and include VAT where charged.
(g) Foreign currencies
Monetarfv, assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currcncies are translatcd into sterling at rates of
exchange ruling at the balance sheLt date. Transactions in foreign currencics are translated into sterling
at the ratc ruling on the date of the transaction. Exchange gains and losses are recogniscd in thc
statement of financial activiti¢s.

(h) Unrestricted Income Fund
The Charity's funds are unrestrict¢d and comprise an income fund. which the Trust¢cs are able to use
for general purposes in accordanc¢ with th¢ furtherance of th¢ general objectives of the charity and
which have not been designated for other purposes.
(i) Going Concern
The Trustecs assess whether the usc of going concern is appropriatc i.¢. whether there arc anv material
uncertainties rclatcd to events or conditions that ma}, cast significant doubt on the abilitN' of the Charity
to continue &s a going concern. The Trustees makc this assessment in respcct of a period of at Icast one
year from the date of authorisation for issue of thL financial stat¢mcnts and havc concluded that thc
Charitv has adequate rcsources to continue in operational existence for the forcsccable future and thcre
arc no matcrial uncertainties about the Charity's ability to continue as a going conccm. thus they
continue to adopt the going conccm basis of accounting in preparing the financial statcments.
ti) Cash at Bank and in hand
Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short tenn highly liquid invcstments with a short
malvrity of three months or Icss from the date of acquisition or opening of the deposit or similar
account.
(k) Credltors and provisions
Cr¢ditots and provisions are recognis¢d where the charity has a present obligation resulting from a
past cvcnt that will probably result in the transfer of funds to a third party and the amount due to
settle the obligation can bc measured or eslimatcd reliably. Creditors and provisions are nomially
rccognised at their s¢ttl¢nient amount after allowing for any trade discounts due.

8. Unrestricted Income Fund
The Charity's funds are unrestricted and comprise an income fund, which th¢ Trustees are able to
use for general purposes in accordance with the charitable objects.
9. Related Party transactions
Mr B D G Jarvis is a dir¢ctor of Ravensale Limited, fftim whom thc Charity r¢ccived voluntary
income of £940.000 (2024 - £1. I75,0()O) during the ycar.
During the Icar donations of £380,000 (2024 - £750,000) were made to The Gem Project NPC a
charity which Miss J K Jarvis is a director.
At the year ¢nd, all income had been paid and there was no outstanding balances with Ravensale
Limited.
