Tlie tendei" piocess foi. the Youtli Hub conts'act began in March 2024 as part of a competitive two-

tn the past yeai., we liave continued to successfiilly deliveT our youth prO￿.aMmeS at both tlie
concoi.de and Stoke Newington Youth Hubs. These seivices have i'emained inte8r21 to the pei'sonal
and social development of yoiing people in Hackney, offering a broad range of activities and
suppoit. Despite the challenges of the ongoing economic climate, attendance iEmained sti'ong, and
the Iiubs have continued to be a source of stsbility and growth for the local youth community,
A key development this year was the successfvl retendering of tl)e Youth Hub contract, which has
secui'cd the continuity of our youth sei'vices. This achieveinent was vital, as the conti'act repi'esents
a significant poition of the chai'ity's ttiimovei., and its successful renewal lias alleviated an existential
tlii.eat to oui. organisation. Tl)is stability enables us to continuc providing higli-quality, structuied

Tlie Kings Park Moving Togethcr project, completed in partnership with the London Boi'ough of
Hackney, mai'ked anothei. significant milestone. The project, which focused on community
development and engagemciit, concluded successfully in Octobci. 2023. Tliis initiative not only
brought much-needed activities like cycling, walking. and dance cla&8es to the area but also helped
sti'en8then oui. ongoing cominitmciit to community cohesion.
Another major achievement this year was tlie transfomation of the Somali Women's Group into
independent organisation, now known as East London Somali Connect. As a Community Interest
Coinpany (CIC), East London Somali Connect is now able to more effectively sei've tlie Soinali
community in Hackney and beyond. While they have achieved independence, Hackney Marsh
Partnet3hip i'emains conllnitted to suppoi'ling and guiding East LA)ndon Soinali Connect in its early
stages, ensiiring it reaches its full potential and continuGs to meet the needs of the cominunity.
Amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, the demand foi" our advAce se￿IceS has sui"ged. Oui. walk-in
advice clinic has been a ciittcal iesource for local residents, offei.ing guidance on a wide J'ange of
issues including housing, debL welf￿￿ benefits, and immigration. As demand continues to ￿0w,
we are exploiing additional funding opportunities to increase the availability of this vital service,
ensui'ing that moi"e people in need can be supported during these challenging times.

in accordance with Ihe Financial Reporting Standard 102, {effective 1st January 2016) and 'FRS
102 SORP <Slatement of Recommended Practice for Accounting and Reporting by Charities) 2015
(as amended by the Bulletin issued in February 2016) published by Ihe Charity Commission in
Eng18nd & Wales (CCEW) ,effective January 2016, (The SORP), and in accordance with all
applicable law in the charitls jurisdiction of registration, except that the charity has prepared the
financial statemenls in accordance wilh the FRS 102 SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice
for Accounling and Reporting by Charities) 2015 (as amended by the Bulletin issued in February
2016) in preference lo the previous SORP, the SORP 2005, which has been withdrawn,
notwithstanding the fact that the extant statutory regulations. the Charities (Accounts and Reports)
Regulations 2008 refer explicitly to the SORP 2005. This has been done to accord with current best
practice.
Going Concern
The charitable activities are entirely dependent on continuing granl aid and voluntary donations as
well as trading revenues. As a consequence. the qoing concern basis Is dependent on the future
flow of these uncertain funding streams. Accordingly, the Trustees have oblained forecasts and,
after reviewing the financial forecasts for future periods to 31 March 2018, the Trustees are
satisfied that, at the time of approvlng the financial statements, it is appropriate to adopt the going
concern basis in preparing the financial slatements. Other th8n these matters. the Truslees are not
aware of any material uncertainties aboul the Gharit￿S ability to continue as a going concern,
Incomé recognltlon
Income, whether from exchange or non exchange transactions, is recognised in Ihe statement of
flnancial activities (SOFA) on a receivable basis, when a transaction or other event results in an
Incfease in the charily's assets or a reduction in its liabilities and onSy when the charity has leg81
entitlement, the income is probable and can be measured reliably.
Income subject to terms and conditions which must be met before the charity is enlitled to th8
resources is not recognised until the conditions have been met.
All income is accounted for gross, before deducting any related fees or costs.
Accounting for deferred Income and Income recelved In advance
Where terms and conditions relaling to income have nol been met or uncertainty exists as to
whether the charity can meet any terms or conditions othe￿ise wthin its control, income is not
recognised but is deferred as a liability until it is probable that the terms or conditions imposed can
be met.
Recognltlon of Ilabllities and expenditure
A Ilability, and the related expenditure. is recognised when a18gal or constructive obligation exists
as 8 result of a past evenl, and when it is more likely than not that a transfer of economic benefits
will be required in selllement, and when the amount of the obligation can be measured or reliably
esllmated..
Liabilities arlsing from future funding commitrnents and constructive obligations, including
performance related grants. where the timing or the amount of the future expenditure required fo
settle the obligation are uncertain, give rise lo a provision in the accounts, which is reviewed at the
accounting year end. The provision is increased to reflect any increases in liabililies, and is
decreased by the utilisation of any provision wthin the period, and reversed if any provision is no
longer required. These movements are charged or credited to the respective funds and activities to
which the provision relates.
