Chair Report AGM October 2025

Thank you all so much for coming to this years AGM, we really appreciate everyones dedication and support. Thanks also to Vic and all the great staff we have here, who make every day fun and fulfilling for the children. We know its not always easy and there are lots of challenges so thank you!

We’ve had another busy year, in January we welcomed OFSTED and I’m delighted that we were awarded good in all areas, which is a great reflection of all the hard work everyone puts in. We have employed a extra staff member on a fixed term contract due to the increase in 2 year olds. Hopefully if the demand continues this can be made into a permanent contract in the future. We are also currently advertising for some extra bank staff so its great to be so in demand.

The improvements to the little room have continued, including the mural on the outside of the building to hopefully make it more inviting from the outside and over the summer we created a new digging area with gravel and tyres which has been popular with the children. We are very lucky to be taking part in the EY Inclusion Champion award and with the help of Tracy our inclusion adviser we will continue to make improvements to both rooms. I think the extra training all the staff are completing is so important and beneficial to the playgroup continuing to improve our practise and make it the brilliant place it is.

After 2 years as chair and 4 years on the committee, both my children have now gone to school, I feel that it is now time to pass over the reins to a new chair and step down from the committee. This has been a really difficult decision but I know that the new chair will do a brilliant job. I’d like to thank Vic for putting up with all my faffing but I have really enjoyed the challenge and am proud to have been part of the committee. Although I am stepping down you know where I am whenever you need me! Thanks also to all the outgoing committee, Laura J, Julie and Beth, I know you will all be missed too and a big welcome to the new committee I wish you all the best!
