Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit ) Local mission’s community activities:
Sunday meetings for public worship and teaching as a local community of Christian believers where we share in making Jesus known by knowing Jesus.
Maranatha Assembly Squad have been leading assemblies and acts of worship in primary schools for the last 19 years. Our objective is to enable children to participate in worship of a Christian nature allowing them time for thinking and reflection. We do this in various ways including drama, music, songs and puppets in a way which children enjoy and can participate. We now lead assemblies twice each year in 30 schools in the West Wiltshire area reaching over 6000 children as well as staff and parents.
Little Seeds Toddler Group continues to be well attended and meets on a Friday afternoon at the Longfield Community Centre, Trowbridge. Our aim is to provide a friendly and safe environment for people with pre-school children to come. For the adults to relax over a cup of tea/coffee and a chat while the children play, make crafts, have fun and make new friends! We finish our times together with a sing-song! Our vision is to show Jesus to people by reaching out into the community.
The coffee morning for the aged / isolated / unchurched at Longfield Community Centre on Thursday mornings continues to flourish, is well received and supported.
Parenting Puzzle run with Family Links trained group leaders, introducing helpful ways of improving emotional health and relationship skills for parents and carers of children of all ages.
Four times each year we run a free Family Fun Day at the Longfield Community Centre with crafts, competitions, games, face-painting refreshments and the best free bacon butties on the planet and everything is free!
We take every opportunity to support community events taking fun and the gospel along to share with the folk of Trowbridge and surrounding area.
The trustees confirm that they have paid due regard to Charity Commission guidance on public benefit in deciding what activities to undertake.
