Rotary Club of Brentwood Trust / Charity Activity
Structure, Governance and Purpose of the Trust
The Trust Account is the charity’s registered charitable account and is used to hold funds raised for charitable purposes prior to distribution to beneficiaries and causes supported by the charity. The trustees are responsible for ensuring that funds are applied solely in furtherance of the charity’s objectives and for the public benefit.
Public Benefit Statement
The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when exercising their powers and duties. The charity’s objectives are to support charitable causes and initiatives locally, nationally, and internationally for the benefit of the public.
The charity achieves public benefit by raising and distributing funds to a range of charitable organisations and projects that provide relief to those in need, advance education, promote health, support young people, and improve community wellbeing. Beneficiaries during the year included vulnerable individuals and families, children and young people, older members of the community, and those experiencing hardship both locally and overseas.
During the year, support was provided to community food banks, hospice care, youth and educational initiatives, international humanitarian relief programmes, and health-focused campaigns. In addition, the charity administered restricted grant funding received from local authorities to provide hardship assistance to local Ukrainian families, ensuring that funds were applied strictly in accordance with the specified charitable purpose.
The trustees believe that the charity’s activities during the year have clearly furthered its charitable purposes and delivered tangible public benefit.
