The Trustees present their annual report together vAth the financial statements of
Dorset Guide Association for the year ended 30 Septetnber 2025
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE & hl4NAGEMENT
a. CONSTITUTION
The charity is a registered charlty, number 1061378.
b. MEfHOD OF APPOINTMENT OR ELECTION OF TRUSTEES
Trustees are recruited when required to fuLfil the aims of the trust. The trustees
may, at any time, appoint as a trustee any person willing so to act.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women In the UK. As an
organisation Girlguiding helps to build girls, confidence and raises their
aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and
encourage them to be a powerful force for good. We give them a space to have
fun. By 2020, through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we will empower
more girls to find their VOTce and be thelr best through high-quality, girl-led
programmes delivered by inspirational leaders.
GOVERNING DOcuME￿r AND CONSTITUTION
The Dorset Guide Association is a separately constituted branch of The Guide
Association which is incorporated by Royal Charter.
We have held training opportunities for our leaders to continue to update their
knowledge to enhance the many different activities the girls participate in.
Opportunities for all leaders to engage with the updated Safe Space requirements
were put in place.
In settlng our objectives and planning our activities our Trustees have given
careful consideration to the Charlty Commission's publfjc benefit guidance.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Dorset Guide Association is split into 13 Divisions, Blandford, Bournemouth North,
Bournemouth South, Mid Dorset, North Dorset, North East Forest, North East
Minster, Poole East, Poole West, Purbeck, South Dorset, Twynham and West
Dorset. A Division Commissioner is appolnted to each area for a period of five years
and takes on the role of Trustee to the County as part of that appolntment.
AcHIEVEME￿rS AND PERFORMANCE
Our Mission is: through fun, f riendship) challenge and adventure we empower girls
to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a
positlve difference in their community.

We offer a wealth of opportunities for girls, young women and adults on a regular
basis. We have units all over Dorset offering weekly meetings, campingy indoor
holidays, actlvity days, social evenings and internationaL travel.
Once again, recruitment remains a high priority within the adult volunteer section
to enable us to offer places to the girls on waltlng lists. We have maintained and
developed our offer of adult only based workshops to enhance their experience as
a volunteer and learn new skills.
Attendance at county shows and local fayres has been maintained to heLp with
promotlng all that Girlguiding has to offer.
Units took part in Remembrance Day parades. Glass workshops were held for
adults,
The annual awards celebration events took place for both young and adult
members, who had gained qualifications, service and gold awards.
A monowly style game was created around the town of PooLe, members acr055 all
sections explored the town, engaging with many venues.
A tea party was held at Dudsbury to celebrate the anniversary of VE Day, the
beacon was also lit.
Young adults, having been previously selected, took part in international trips to
Belgium and The Gambia.
The much-enjoyed water-based opportunities, such as kayaking, canoelng and body
boarding, for brownies, guides and rangers took place in June.
There have been many trips to Brownsea Island and members have taken part in
Pride event5 Within the County.
Equalitfes, Diversity and Incluslon grant5 were given to buy equipment, help to
make guiding accessible and to enable 1.1 support.
September saw 300 brownies, guides and rangers enjoy a great weekend at PGL
Osmington, taking part fn such activities as archeryi zip-wire, giant swing.
abseiling.
Training opportunities for all adult volunteers continues on a variety of topics and
ensuring all safe space and 1st aid requirements are met. Trainings esFecially for
our Young Leaders were also held.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The reserves on 30 September 2025 amount to £424,975

RESPEcfivE RESPONSIBILMES OF TRusfEE AND EXAMINER
The charity's trustees {who are also directors for the purposes of company lawl are responsible for
the preparation of the financial statements. The charitvs trustees consider that an audit is not
requlred for this year under section 144121 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charltles Actl and that an
Independent examination is needed. Having satisfied ourselves that the company is not subject to
audit under charity or company law and is eligible for independent examination. It Is our
responsibility to..
examine the accounts under sertion 145 of the Charities Act,
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Dirertions given by the Charity Commlsslon
(under section 14515llbl of the Charities Act, and
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS REPORT
Our examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any
unusual items or disclosure5 111 the accounts and seeking explanation5 from the trustees concerning
any such matters.
The procedures undertaken do not provlde all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and
consequently no opinion 15 given as to whether the attounts present a 'true and fairf view and the
report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

In connection with my examination. no matter has come to my attention (other than that disclosed
