We have held training opportunities for our leaders to continue to update their

Opportunities for all leaders to engage with the updated Safe Space requirements
were put in place.
In setting our objectives and planning our activities our Trustees have given careful

Dorset Guide Association is split into 13 Divisions, Blandford, Bournemouth North,
Bournemouth South, Mid Dorset, North Dorset, North East Forest, North East
Minster, Poole East, Poole West, Purbeck, South Dorset, Twynham and West
Dorset. A Division Commissioner is appointed to each area for a period of five years
and takes on the role of Trustee to the County as part of that appointment.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Our Mission is: through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we empower girls
to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a
positive difference in their community.
We offer a wealth of opportunities for girls, young women and adults on a regular
basis. We have units all over Dorset offering weekly meetings, camping, indoor
holidays, activity days, social evenings and international travel.
Recruitment continues to remain a high priority within the adult volunteer section
to enable us to offer places to the girls on waiting lists. We have maintained and
developed our offer of adult only based workshops to enhance their experience as
a volunteer and learn new skills.
Attendance at county shovrfs and local fayres has been maintained to help with
promoting all that Girlguiding has to offer.
The annual awards celebration events took place for both young and adult
members, who had gained qualifications, service and gold awards.
To celebrate Thinking Day) over 200 members rode on the Heritage Swanage
Railway Line, f rom Swanage to Corfe Castle, spending time at Corfe Castle
exploring the National Trust property and joining together to renew their
Girlguiding Promise.
In May, a monopoly style game was created around the town of Dorchester.
Members across all sections explored the town, engaging with many venues.
The 80th anniversary of DD Day was celebrated at an event at the Royal Signals
Museum in Blandford, where the girls learned about the different means of
communications used, they had a go at sending morse code messages and speak
across the airwaves.
The adults celebrated with a fish and chip supper at Dudsbury Guide Camp,
lighting the beacon, they were joined by a member of the Royal British Legion who
gave the tribute of remembrance and read the British Legion Exhortation.
Three young adults, having been previously selected took part in international
opportunities, at a Jamboree, travelling to Malaysia and helping at a turtle
conservation centre and travelling around Europe to many c7ties.
The much-enjoyed water-based opportunities, such as kayakingy canoeing and body

our Rangers and Young Leaders to have an amazing gliding experience in
conjunction vrfith the local Dorset Gliding Club, the weather was perfect and
everyone enjoyed the opportunity.
