A major highlight was **Camp Together** in Northumberland, a huge event bringing the whole District together. Everyone took part in a wide range of activities onsite including the amazingly popular zorb balls. Our term time sessions have included **swimming** , **first aid** , and an inspiring **faith night** at a local **mosque** . Beavers and Cubs particularly enjoyed making **pancakes** , Scouts took part in a vibrant **Mexican night** where we played popular Mexican games and ate delicious food. Cubs and Scout have been developing communication skills for their **Communicator Badge** , including learning **Morse code** and **semaphore** . Cubs got creative with a **Big Local art project** , while some sections had fun with **circus skills** and a challenging **rock climbing** session at the **Eden Rock** centre. The group also delved into **STEM** projects, such as learning how to make **water safe to drink** , sparking curiosity and teamwork. A favourite social night was **gutterball alley bowling** , where fun and friendly competition took centre stage. To end the year on a high, everyone enjoyed a fabulous **Christmas treat** at **InflataNation** , bouncing and laughing together for hours. It’s been an amazing year full of learning, friendship, and adventure — and we’re already looking forward to what’s next! Throughout the second half of the year we have been carrying out significant work on the hut. There was damage due to water ingress and due to storms. This work has been covered via our insurer. It has continued into the next financial year. In addition to replacing the flooring across many areas of the hut, we have replaced much of the outside cladding. We carried out our Gift Aid return, which resulted in additional income of £9,415 in March 2025. The trustee board will decide at the next meeting about whether to spend this on the young people, invest in the hut, put it into our reserves, or a mix of the three. The Group/District is a trust established under its rules which are common to all Groups/Districts. They consider that an audit is not required for this year (under Section 43 (2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: · Examine the accounts (under Section 43 (3) (a) of the 1993 Act); · To follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under Section 43 (7) (b) of the 1993 Act); and - To state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner's report** My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Group/District and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. ## **Independent Examiner's statement** In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements - to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 41 of the 1993 Act ;and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act have not been met; or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
