Independent examiner's report to the trustees of the JP Foundation.
I repoi't on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 December 2023
The chaj'ity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's
trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year undcr sectioii 43(2) of tlie Cliarities
Act 1993 (the l 993 Act) or under Regulation l O ( l)(d) of The Chai'ities Accounts (Scotland)
Regulations 2006 (the 2006 Accounts Regulations) and that an independent examination is
needed.
It is my responsibility to:
exainine the accounts uiider section 43 of the Chai'ities 1993 Act and sectioii 44(1) (c)
of the Chai'ities and Tiustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (the 2005 Act);
to follow the procedures laid down in tlie general Directions given by the Cliarity
Commission under section 43(7}(b) of tlie 1993 Act; and
to state wliether particular matters have come to my attention.
My exainination was carried out in accoi'dance with the general Directions giveii by the
Charity Commission and is in accordance with Regulation I l of the Cljarities Accounts
(Scotlaiid) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accouiiting recoi'ds
kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those i'ecords. It also
includes considei'ation of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking
explanations fi'om you as trustees coiicerning any such mattel's. The procedures undertaken
do not provide all the cvidence that would be required in an audii and consequently no
opinion is given as to wliether the accouiits present a 'true and fair view, and the report is
liinit¢d to those matters set out in the statement below.
In coiinection witli my exainination, no matter has come to my attention:
( l } wliich gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any matei'ial respect the requirenieiits:
to keep accounting i'ecords in accordance with section 41 of the 1993 Act aiid sectioii
44 (1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. and
to prepare account.q which accord with the accouiitii)g records aiid coinply with the
accounting requiiemcnts of the 1993 Act and section 44(1){b) of the 2005 Act and
Regulation 9 of the 2006 Regulations
have not been inet, or
{2) to whicli, in my opiiiion, attention should be di'awii in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.
