## **SUNNI MUSLIM ASSOCIATION REPORT (SOUTH LONDON) December 2023 Chairman’s Report**

This year presented its own challenges for the center and charity. Despite cost of living crisis and inflation which impacted the common household in the UK, donations to the charity rose this year. Thanks to the outstanding volunteers the charity remined operational throughout the year. As always, I would like to thank all our members and regular attendees for their on-going support of our events and activities. Our volunteers did an amazing job this year keeping the regular prayers organised, safe and punctual. We hope that we can continue to work together to support and meet the needs of our growing community.

## **Vice Chairman Report**

As always, our events have been well received by members, attendees and members of the public. Similar to last year, we have taken the opportunity this year to hand out feedback forms at some of our events, with the aim of improving our service provision. We were very pleased to have many positive comments and valuable constructive suggestions. We must of course extend our thanks to our volunteers and all of those who contribute financially or otherwise to the running of our Centre. It never ceases to amaze us that our brothers and sisters can be so generous, and it goes without saying that our events and the Centre itself would not be running if not for the support of these individuals.

Our recent major renovations have greatly enhanced our space, allowing us to host a series of significant religious events with even more success. During this period, we successfully organized a range of sacred gatherings, including prayers and communal activities. One of the highlights was the food distribution initiative, which has supported numerous individuals in need. Additionally, we were delighted to welcome prominent members from the local Christian and Sikh communities, along with local politicians, who joined us for these events, sharing in the joy and unity that marked these special occasions.

## **TREASURE’S REPORT**

We have as always endeavored to find ways of continuing to provide high quality services to our members while also reducing the cost of these events. Our volunteers have been instrumental as always in helping to keep down both costs in the Centre and reducing waste as much as possible. Ramadan has proved as always to be an important time for us in being able to fundraise both for those in need and for the general running of our Centre .
