## **SUNNI MUSLIM ASSOCIATION REPORT (SOUTH LONDON) December 2021 Chairman’s Report**

This year has been a time of change within our Centre. It was agreed that our Centre was in dire need of renovations, to facilitate and convey feelings of peace and tranquility, and allow our members to pray in comfort. As always, I would like to thank all our members and regular attendees for their on-going support of our events and activities, and especially with regards to the renovations. We were working to a very strict schedule, with the building works taking place shortly before the start of Ramadan, and we would not have finished on time it not for the tireless work of our volunteers. We hope that we can continue to work together to support and meet the needs of our growing community.

## **Vice Chairman Report**

As always, our events have been well received by members, attendees and members of the public. We have taken the opportunity this year to hand out feedback forms at some of our events, with the aim of improving our service provision. We were very pleased to have many positive comments and valuable constructive suggestions. We hope to continue with this practice in the future as it really helps us to understand the needs of those attending our functions. We must of course extend our thanks to our volunteers and all of those who contribute financially or otherwise to the running of our Centre. It never ceases to amaze us that our brothers and sisters can be so generous, and it goes without saying that our events and the Centre itself would not be running if not for the support of these individuals.

Our Ramadan Food Parcel appeal has continued to be a major project for us again and has helped hundreds of individuals. Ramadan and the lead up to this event has been a particularly busy time for us this year with the renovations in the Centre. We also had a very well attended Tarawih prayers, which are additional prayers preformed during Ramadan after the Isha Prayer. We were also again very pleased to have shared these joyous times with others prominent individuals from the local Christian and Sikh Communities as well as local politicians who have joined us for the breaking of our fast.

## **TREASURE’S REPORT**

We have as always endeavored to find ways of continuing to provide high quality services to our members while also reducing the cost of these events. Our volunteers have been instrumental as always in helping to keep down both costs in the Centre and reducing waste as much as possible. Ramadan has proved as always to be an important time for us in being able to fundraise both for those in need and for the general running of our Centre.
