THE SAINT MICHAEL'S AND EXETER SCHOOLS, CHARITY TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023 Reference and Administrative information Registered Charity No. 1061107 Address 9 Broad Street Stamford Lincolnshire PE91PY The Charity called The Saint Michael's and Exeter Schools, Charity known as'stamford Young People's Charity, was established by Scheme of the Charity Commission sealed on the 24 day Df June 1996. The Charity Trustees during the period were John F H Smith, Pauline Mary Walker, Miss Marian Elizabeth Manger and Jillian Dickson. When new Trustees are appointed they are given an oveNiew of the Charity and an outline of both its operational and financial activities. New Trustees are selected in order to gain benefit from their skills and experience, to complement the existing Trustees, and to provide Succession. The Trustees have considered the guidelines issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit and are of the opinion that the criteria are being met within the objectives and activities of the Charity. Objectives and Activities The objects of the Charity are:_ "Advancing the education (including social and physical training) of persons under the age of twenty-five years who or whose parents are resident in Stamford (the area of benefit) and in particular, but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, in providing special benefits of a kind not normally provided by the Local Education Authority for Church of England schools in the area of benefit. Achlevements and Performance A bequest from the estate of the late Leslie Thiselton of £115,560 was gratefully received by the Trustees. Grants totalling £30,891 were paid to ten different beneficiaries. Financial Revlew The Statements of Account indicate net income credrt for the year of £84,686 The reserves of the Charity at 31. December 2023 were £145,180 all of which are unrestricted. This represents funds that are necessary to provide adequate reseNes for future grants and administration of the Charity. INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE SAINT MICHAEL'S AND EXETER SCHOOLS CHARITY I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2023 which are set out on pages 3 to 4. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act,), I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect.. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act. or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
