|||Walsall Central||Over the past twelve months<br>Community<br>Development<br>Work has||
|||||continued<br>at the Small Street Centre with employability<br>courses being||
|||||run from the centre, enabling<br>individuals<br>to gain meaningful||
|||||qualifications<br>leading to tangible employment<br>outcomes for them.<br>Smail||
|||||Street also still continues to provide a safe space for community||
|||||members to meet other people, and to engage with a variety ofsupport||
|||||from the available mentors<br>on site. Support has been provided<br>with||
|||||health and wellbeing,<br>benefits, information<br>advice and guidance<br>and||
|||||supported<br>into training<br>or employment.<br>There have been 85 individuals||
|||||who have accessed small street for support, guidance<br>and employment||
|||||programmes<br>during the last year.||
|||||Programmes<br>at the Glebe Centre have developed<br>this year with the||
|||||addition<br>of INSPIRE, supported<br>by the Big Lottery, in addition to the core||
|||||public health contract.<br>This has enabled the staff at the Glebe to adopt a||
|||||trauma<br>informed<br>approach to working with some ofthe most vulnerable||
|||||members ofthe community.<br>The support<br>is holistic and therapeutic.<br>It||
|||||provides structured<br>day care to the service users which<br>in turn will||
|||||enable routines to be established<br>and it is hoped that the service users||
|||||will participant<br>fully in citizenship<br>and work towards<br>gaining employment||
|||||or volunteering<br>opportunities.<br>The team have worked with over 70||
|||||individuals<br>over the past twelve months.||
|||||In addition to providing<br>premises for nursery<br>provision, the Small Street||
|||||Centre has provided<br>office and meeting spaces for local organisations to||
|||||develop and deliver their own programmes.<br>During the year, this space||
|||||was utilised<br>by Lichfield Diocese, and Manor Farm Community||
|||||Association,<br>Yellow Ribbon as well as providing<br>office space for the||
|||||YMCA's Building Better Opportunities<br>programme.<br>The effects ofthe||
|||||pandemic<br>are still being felt in the conferencing<br>and office hire as||
|||||working<br>patterns<br>have significantly<br>changed for many companies<br>and||
|||||individuals.||
