The Charity operates from its offices at 98 Little Horton Lane, Bradford, BD5 OJG. The objectives of the Charity are: - a) To use Trust Property in accordance with the provisions of the constitution of the Serbian Church - b) To advance the education of the local congregation or other congregations of the Serbian Orthodox Church in England permanently residing in and being citizens of the United Kingdom. ## **Principal Officers** The principal officers who served during the year were: Priest in Charge Rev. Zarko D. Nedic Chairman Jovan Prica Secretary Darko Todorovic Treasurer Rada Mijailovic ## **Agents and Advisers** The Independent Examiner is Samantha. J. Sutcliffe F.C.C.A of Torevell Dent Limited, Chartered Certified Accountants. The bank accounts of the Trust are maintained at National Westminster Bank and the Skipton Building Society. ## **Review of Progress and Achievements** The church continued to hold services throughout the year at the Church premises at 98 Little Horton Lane, Bradford. The total receipts for the year were £53,993 (2021: £47,317) and after deducting payments of £57,047 (2021: £37,654), the net expenditure was £3,054 (2021: net income £9663). Nedic Priest in Charge** Date ……………….. 3 **The Serbian Orthodox Church of Holy Trinity, Bradford** ## **Statement of Church Committee Members’ Responsibilities For the year ended 31[st] December 2022** The Church Committee acting as Charity Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Report and the Financial Statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The law applicable to Charities in England and Wales requires Charity Trustees to prepare Financial Statements for each financial year which give a trust and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the Charity for that period. In preparing these Financial Statements, the Charity Trustees are required to: - a) Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently - b) Observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP - c) Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent - d) State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the Financial Statements - e) Prepare the Financial Statements on a going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the Charity will continue in operation The Trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and to enable them to ensure that the Financial Statements comply with the Charities Act 2011 and the Trust Deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities. 4 **Independent Examiner’s Report To the Church Committee of The Serbian Orthodox Church of Holy Trinity, Bradford.** ## **For the year Ended 31[st] December 2022** I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Serbian Orthodox Church of Holy Trinity, Bradford for the year ended 31 December 2022. ## **Responsibilities and basis of the report.** As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner’s statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
