REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXAMINER TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE LONGFORD CHARITABLE TRUST

This report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 5 April 2022, is in respect of an examination which is carried out in accordance with S.145 of the Charites Act 2011 ("the Act")

RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF the TRUSTEES AND THE EXAMINER

As the trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements: you consider that the audit requirements of s.144(2) of the Act do not apply. It is my responsibility to issue this report on those financial statements in accordance with the Act.

It is my responsibility to

examine the accounts under Section 145 of the 2011 Act

follow the procedures laid down in the General directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS'S REPORT

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under sections 145(5)(b) of the Act. That examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts with those records. The procedures undertaken in the course of an examination are quite different from those carried out during the course of an audit, and do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit. Consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Act; and

to prepare accounts which accord with these accounting records have not been met; or

  1. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
