Report to the Trustees
The Trust is registered with the Charity Commission (No. 1060756). Its governing document is a Trust Deed dated 20th January 1997.
Successful Foodbank Reorganisation:
The primary event of the year was the strategic transfer of RCF's Trussell Trust Foodbank franchise to a newly created, independent charity (a CIO) named Swansea Foodbank.
This transition was successfully navigated during 2024 . It was formally completed when the new Swansea Foodbank CIO received its own unique reference number from HMRC for the Gift Aid scheme, allowing it to operate as a fully independent entity.
The rationale for the separation was to create a dedicated organization that could better align with the national Trussell Trust's broader vision.
Financial and Staff Transfers:
All RCF staff, who were part of the Financial Inclusion service, were transferred over to the new Swansea Foodbank in August 2023 .
As a result, RCF no longer had any employees at the end of 2023 .
RCF maintained a separate, ring-fenced bank account to handle legacy Foodbank funds, which are to be passed to the new charity.
As of 31 December 2024, this account held £1,240.35, which were the charity's only restricted funds.
Governance
There were no changes to the Board of Trustees (no new appointments or resignations) in 2024. There are no serious incidents to report during the year ended 31st December 2024.
Declaration:
I declare in my capacity as a trustee that:

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Riverside Christian Fellowship
I report on the accounts for the year ended 31st December 2024 set out on pages 5 to 7.
Respective responsibilities of the trustees and examiner
The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The Charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
-
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
-
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and
-
to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of the independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
1 which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act
have not been met; or
- 2 to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
