Aims and Organisation
Stowmarket and District Lions Club is a local club within Lions Clubs International, the world’s biggest service organisation. It is one of some 50.000 clubs in over 200 countries with a total membership of 1.4 million. Lions Clubs International helps, supports and guides our club in the performance of our service to the local community and beyond. Clubs are chartered as separate entities with their own constitutions but have structural links to the District in 105CE and to the Multiple District of the United Kingdom then, ultimately to Lions Clubs International headquartered in Oakbrook, Illinois, USA.
Lions Club of Stowmarket and District
Lions Club of Stowmarket and District is a voluntary organisation which exists to help the local community and to support, as it sees fit, Lions national and international projects.
The administration of the club is wholly financed by it’s members. All time to organise fund raising activities and to provide community service is given freely by the members, their families and friends for no payment or reward.
Lions Club of Stowmarket and District was formed and chartered in 1980 and is among the largest in the United Kingdom.
