Financial Review

----- Start of picture text -----
Review of the charity’s Para 1.21 In the financial year ending Aug-22, the
financial position at the end playgroup extended its accounting period to
of the period reflect the academic calendar. A result of
this change, this years’ financial period is
17 months, distorting a direct comparison
against prior years. This is a one-time
change and the standard 12-month
accounting period will be reinstated in the
next reporting period.
For the 17 months to Aug-22 the Playgroup
demonstrated resilience in its operating
model and benefited from additional
children resulting in a profit for the year of
c£26k. This profit is an anomaly compared
to the prior years which have been loss
making and reflects (i) a 17-month
reporting period, so cannot be directly
compared to the prior years and (ii) the
additional children within the setting over
this period. We expect the next reporting
period to return to break even given the
increased in costs and reduction in
children.
Statement explaining the Para 1.22 We have a reserve policy/account for any
policy for holding reserves staff redundancies, which we have six
stating why they are held members of staff who would receive a
redundancy payment. Funds are also for
any other unforeseen financial
circumstances that the setting may incur,
such as new washing machine, fridges, and
extra staffing for training hours.
