FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2023
Smith Bradbeer Charitable Trust, 14-20 Bell Street, Romsey, Hampshire $05182E, was registered with the
Charity Commissioners (No. 10604181 on 28 january 1997 and is constituted by Deed of Trust dated 23
January 1997. It is an unincorporated charity and the accounts have been prepared on 3 receipts and
payments basis.
The charity is administered by a management committee, comprising the following trustee5'.

The power to appoint additional trustees 15 vested in the current trustee5 and is exercisable in writing.
Should new trustees be appointed, the existing trustees would take responsibility for their induction.
Activities and objectives
The objectives of the charity are'.-
The advancement of the Christian Religion,.
The advancement of education based on Christian principles,.
Relief of poverty, hardship, distress, age and sickness throughoLJt the World,.
Other such charitable purposes for the benefit of the communities of Hampshire and Dorset.
The objectives of the charity have been met in the financial year by contributing to various missionary
societies and evangelists at home and abroad who have achieved their aim of spreading the word of the
gospel to various people around the world.
Now we are out of the pandemic, the Trustees expect the donation5 to increase to normal pre-pandemic
leve15 in the coming year or two. The charity has received increased donations in the year due which has in
turn led to an increase in the charitable donations given.
The charity is looking to expand the number of contributions and increase amounts in due course.
During the year the charity made more than fifty charitable donations for the advancement of its objectives
12022 - fifty).
The charity is dependent upon Smith Bradbeer and Company Limited and RAM Capital Limited for
donations received and for rental income received from the Paint Pots Nursery and Safe Families.
Reserves
The charity has no policy in relation to reserves. Charitable donations and work are expensed at the decision
and approval of the trustees from the cash reserves held in the bank account. There is no minimum buffer to
be held back in the cash reserves.

The charity has referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on
public benefit when reviewing its aims and objectives and in planning future activities. in particular,
the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives that they have
set.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of smith Bradbeer Charitable Trust for the
ve3r ended 31 March 2023, which are Set out on page5 4 to 5.
Responsibilitie5 and basis ofreport
As the charity's trustees of the Trust YOU 3re responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Art 20111'the Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trustee's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011
Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 14515llbl of the 2011 Act.
An independent examination does not involve gathering all the evidence that would be required in an
audit and consequently does not cover all the matters that an auditor considers in giving their Opinion
on the accounts. The planning and conduct of an audit goes beyond the limited assurance that an
independent examination can provide. Consequently, l express no opinion as to whether the
accounts present a 'true and f3ir view, and my report is limited to those 5pecilic matters Set out in the
independent examiner's statement.
Independent ex¢7miner s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me caLJSe to believe that in any material respect..
111 accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act,. or
121 the accounts do not accord with those records.
131 the accounts do not cornply with the applicable requirement5 concerning the form and content of
accounts Set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any
requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of
an independent examination.
I have no concern5 and have come acr055 no other matters in connection with the examination to which
attention shoLJld be drawn in thi5 report in order to enable a proper understanding of the account5 to be
reached.

Included within investment properties of £650,000 is a donated a55et that has been revalued. The
revaluation was carried out by Jones Lang Lasalle in September 2016 and was £650,000. The Trustees
believe the valuation to still be adequate and that there ha5 been no material change in value since the
last dated valuation.
