In preparing those financial statements, the Executive committee members are required to". a. select suiiable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. c. state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any. material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements. d. prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Thc objcctives of The Muslim A&CIatiOn of Salisbury are wholly for the public FRnefit. The principal aims of the charity are: l. To further the religious and other charitable work of the Muslim Church in Salisbury, Wilshire and the adjoining counties. 2. To observe and organise Muslim religious days and in particular to promote goodwill for Muslims. 3. To hold regular prayer meetings for the practice and promotion and advancement of Muslim faith.. The executive committee members are responsible for keeping proper accounling records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the organisation and enable them lo ensure that the financial statcments comply with relevant legislation. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the organisalion and hence for tsking rcasonablc stcps for th¢ prcvcntion and detection of fraud and other irregularities. (Ali Manikj Chaiman
PAGE-03 THE IVtUSLIM ASSOCTATION OF SALISBURY REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXAMIIYERS TO EXECUTIVE COMNllTTEE The charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act), and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145(1) of the Charities Act 201 I, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act), and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of inde ndent examiner's re My examination was carried out in accordance with gencral directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual iterns or disclosur¢s in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would bc required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. Inde endent examiner's statement In connection with my examinaiion, no material matter has come to my attention: which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect. the requirements: to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met. or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. ACCOUNTING POLICIES (a) Basis of Accountin The accounts have been prepared on the historic cost convention. The accounts are in accordance with applicable accounting standards, the Charities SORP (FRS 102) (Accounting and Reporling by Charities) and comply with the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 issued under the Charities Act 1993 (b) Donation and Grants Income frorn donations and grants including capital grants is includcd in incoming resources when these are receivable, except as follows. When donors specify that donations and grants given to the charity must be used in future accounting periods, the income is deferred until those periods. When donors impose Conditions, which must be fulfilled before the charity becomes entitled to use such income, the income is deferred and not included in incoming resources until the pre-conditions for use have been met. When donors specify that donations and grants, including capital grants, ate for restricted purposes, which do not amount to pre-conditions regarding entiilemenL this income is included in incoming resources of restricted funds when receivable. enditure All expenditure is includd on an accrual basis and is recognis¢d when there is a legal or constructive obligation to pay for expenditure. All costs have been directly attributed to one of the functional categories of resources expended. The charity is not registered for VAT and accordingly expenditure is shown gross of irrecoverdble VAT.
