Bradford Guild of Help whose Registered Address is at 506 Thomton Road, Thornton, Bradford, BD13
3JD, was registered with the Charity Commission under number 1059913 on the 23 December 1996,
having been constituted as an Unincorporated Association with a membership on 4 December 1996.

The objects of the charity are the promotion of charitable purposes for the benefit of the community
generally.
The aims of the charity are to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community in the
local government district of Bradford and in particular the advancement of education, the furtherance of
health and the relief of poverty, sickness and the distress arising therefrom. In exercising their powers
to meet these objectives the Executive Committee have due regard to the guidance on public benefit
published by the Charity Commission.
The initial endowment capital was originally funded by The Bradford Council of Social Service, The
Mothers and Young Folks Club and The City Guild of Help funds.
Grant assistance was received in the year from Daisy Bank Playing Field Fund of £210,00012023.'
£nill. Investment income of £8,509 (2023.. £9,109) was generated. Grants distributed were £265,534
(2023.. £24,500) to local charities and organisations. Other expenses £5,57412023'. £4,700) were also
defrayed making total revenue expenditure of £271,108 (2023: £29,200) leaving a net current account
expense for the year of £52,599 (2023.. net expense £20.091). Free reserves have increased to
£38,718 due to a transfer of £75,000 from investments (2023.. £13,035). The retention of reserves
enables the Guild to continue to offer grant assistance to local charities even during periods when no
grant assistance is available from Daisy Bank Playing Field Fund.
Sales of investments were £148,681 (2023 £116,134) and purchases were £76,101 (2023 £119.622),
after investment management fees and a transfer to the current account. the capital account has a net
movement of £5,705 decrease.
It is hoped that grants from the Daisy Bank Playing Field Fund will continue in 2025 to enable Bradford
Guild of Help to continue its charitable objectives in the year and beyond.

The investments have been managed on behalf of the Executive Committee by Rathbones Investment
Management during the year, the principal investment objectives continue to be the steady growth of
both capital and income. The total funds have decreased from £455,375 in 2023 to £421,252 in 2024,
or by 7.492%.

Independent Examinerfs Report to the Trustees of Bradford Guild of Help
for the year ended 31 December 2024
I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Bradford Guild of Help
(the charity} for the year ended 31 December 2024
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
As the trustees of the charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements
in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's financial statements carried out under
section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable
Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act
Independent examinerfs statement
Your attention is drawn to the fact that the charity has prepared financial statements in
accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordan
with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) in
preference to the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practi
issued on 1 April 2005 which is referred to in the extant regulations but has not been withdrawn.
l understand that this has been done in order for financial statements to provide a true and fair
view in accordance with Generally AC￿pted Accounting Practice effective for reporting periods
beginning on or after 1 January 2015.
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in an material respect..
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of
the 2011 Act., or
2 the financial statements do not accord with those records.. or
3 the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the
form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations
2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a
matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no COn￿rnS and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination
to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
financial ststements to be reached.

S Blakeley, G Nicholson, L Mann, S Fleming, S Dennis and B Stern are all trustees of Daisy
Bank Playing Fields and Trustees of Bradford Guild of Help.
A grant was awarded to Emmaus Bradford for £Nil (2024 £7,000) during the year, Simon
Blakeley who is a trustee of Bradford Guild of Help and a trustee of Emmaus Bradford.
A grant was awarded to Red Letter Project of £10,000 during the year, Simon Dennis and
Gordon Nicholson who are trustees of Bradford Guild of Help have connections to the Trustees
of Red Letter Project.
