RAVENSHEAD COMMUNITY PROJECT (RCP) REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES Year ended 30 September 2023 The Trustees are pleased to present RCVS 27th Annual Report. Introduction: RCP owrts and operates two 1keat and one 16-seat Vtheer a¢cessible miniknises for the tenefrt of the community of Ravenshead and surroundirKJ area. The Proje(# provides registered lo(21 bus services within Ravenshead and tetween BIKlworth. Ravenshead and Kirkby-in-Ashfield. plus bespoke door-tcfrdoor 'Dial-a-Bus' services. The minibuses are also available for hi to Affiliated Groups and the local community. All the Trustees and Officers are volunw member5 of the Management Commbttee, which meets every two months to monitor perforrnare, review operattons arKI plan future services. The minibuses are driv8n by a team of fully-trained. volunteer drivers arKI the day-today operations are controlled by a Customer Services Manager (CSM). Revlow of Actlvltla$: RCP continued to provide local bus servw in the area on a commercial basis, with no thir&paty financial support. Sep4ice 445B links Blidworth. Ravenshead and Kirkby-in-Ashfiekl on Monday8 and Wednesdays, whilst on Tuesday5rrhursdays, Service 445 provides a regular. local servi¢X Withln Ravenshead linking residents with the Precinct. t)octors' Surgery, The Centre and main road bus ServiS between Nottingham and Mansfield. Twstees have continued to support the operation of these servIS to help maintain the independ&nce of many of our local residents, however passenger numbers were only improving slowly following the effecls of Covid. To inaSe ?arenesS of these 8eNices and encourage new passengers (young and ohj), a new, comprehensive leafietwas prepared with assistance from Bunches, arKI distributed arnd the area by our own volunteers. RCP has maintained the provision of Diai-&Ride services to retail outlets and garden centres, which continue to prove extremely popular wtth residents. RCP (xrrerrtty has in eXs8 of 60 Affiliated Groups induding U3A, Bli(fv4orth on the Move. Mansfiekl & Ashfidd Carers, Woman's Instrtute and local schools. pm1d1 transport to numero destinations and also continues to offer limited private ' hire servi. RCP'S long4stablished relationship with the Comwater Evergreen's FourKlation Trust has Continued. wtth our transport services adapts'ng to meet the changing demand. with transport now offered three days per week to Ravens Lodge, with a new faalty on Thursdays. enabling their members In Rainworth to attend a weekty SOeAal event in their village. In May, RCP were pleased to support the Parish Council's Coronatton Paty by offeriru tran8POrt toffrom the event at the Village Hall. Fuel prices that had increased appreciatively during the eviouS year began to stabilise, however RCP was experiencing a signffi(8nt increase in other costs, particularty in respect of Maintenan and rePlarnerrt parts. Consequently. Trustees agreed reluctantly to increase mileage charges by £0.10 per mile from 1st October 2022. to ensure RCP were in a posÉUon to mairttaw) the highest standards of operation. RCP participates regularly in the Nottinghamshire Community Transport Forums. fa¢ilrtated by the County Council. along with other Communty Transport and Voluntary Car Schemes, sharing best practice and infomiation. In addition, RCP engages in regional and national forums organised by the Community Transport AssoriatÉon, a UK memtEr-based tharity providing training. advi, and operational support to transport related charitEs. communty groups and social enterprises in England, scotla1. Wales, and Northem Ireland.

During the year. three voluntser drivers (Alan Browne, Eddie Crane arKJ Attan Rogers) relired and RCP woukl like to express sinre gratitude and appreciation for all of the time and effort they gave to the Group. on behaff of local residents. In April 2023, three new volunteers (Chris Wagstaff, John Sulherland and Eddie Januszczyk) successfijlty completed their training and were a very we{ ajdition to RCPS rA)ol of drivers. The recruitsnent of new volunteers is one ofthe nv)st difficutt. yet essential aspects ofthe Organisation, to ensure that sufficient volunteers are awiable to contsnue the wide range of seNices provided. This not only applies to our dring volunteers, but akn to the recruitrnent of Trustees. who again provide their services on a voluntary basis to ovefsee ts managemerrt and running of the Organk8ation. As a Ihank you. to all Volunteers, RCP had prev funded an annua dinner. Ixrt this ent had not been held Sin the Covid pandern. Trustees felt it was imp)rtant to recognise the time and effort that Volunteers give freety to the Group. Consequenty, a *ial Evening was held at Ravenshead Village Hall in July which proved very successful. wrth grateful support from a number of local concernslbodies supptying supper (Bralburys), IiquKI refreshnEnts Illage Hall Bar) and musical entertainment (Andy & The Ridge Tiles). Achlevements and Performan During the year. the Project opwated 2503 1mS. covering 39644 nNJes, with 16122 passenger boardings. These figures clearty reflect a gradualty increasing passenger demand following the Pandemic. restoring the value and benefits of our services to the local communty. in offering acress to local facilitses and thereby reducrrvJ isoktitin a1 kNlnesS ts vulnerable residents.
