Playgroup is run to provide pre-school education for 2- 5 year olds and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum as set out nationally and we are registered and inspected by Ofsted. Our last Inspection report in July 2017 judged Playgroup as ‘Good’ with an ‘outstanding’ judgement in the Personal development, behaviour and welfare section. Playgroup has adopted the Preschool Learning Alliance (Early Years Alliance) Constitution 2011.
Playgroup holds regular committee meetings and committee members are elected from parents, families and friends of Playgroup at the AGM held in the summer each year. Playgroup has policies in place to cover all statutory requirements and those recommended for good practice by the Pre-school Learning Alliance (Early Years Alliance).
Playgroup has designated Safeguarding, SEND, Health and Safety, and Behaviour Management officers. Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the Children’s learning and development this year; however the children who left for Infant School displayed good understanding across all 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage and settled into their schools well.
We worked hard this year to increase the numbers of children attending by attending local events to get our name out into the community.
We provided excellent care and education, maintaining our professional staff team who are all dedicated to providing outstanding service to Playgroup families and working together with our Committee and all stakeholders to keep the family and community feel in our Playgroup.
