2025 ProForma Report

## **The Owen's School Association**

## **Charity Commission No.1059655**

## **Treasurer's Report for the period ending 31 December 2025**

**I am pleased to present the Treasurer’s Report for The Owen’s School Association for the financial year ended 31 December 2025.**

**The Association had an exceptionally strong financial year, raising total income in excess of £70,000 from a wide range of fundraising activities. This represents an increase of over 40% compared with the previous year, making 2025 a record year for fundraising. This significant improvement reflects the commitment and hard work of OSA members and volunteers throughout the year.**

**In line with the school’s strategic priority to develop the sports hall, £55,000 of funds raised during the year was earmarked for donation to the school which will be cashed in 2026. During 2025, a cash donation of £50,000 was paid to the school. After all receipts and payments, the Association generated a surplus of £9,410 for the year.**

**As at 31 December 2025, the Association’s cash balances stood at £78,064, an increase from £68,807 at the end of 2024, demonstrating a continued strengthening of the Association’s financial position. As mentioned earlier, £55,000 has been transferred to the school for 2025 subsequent to the year end.**

**This outstanding financial performance would not have been possible without the** ‑ **dedication and energy of all those involved in organising and supporting OSA events. Particular thanks are due to our co chairs, Mbalu and Tricia, whose leadership has been instrumental in achieving this record fundraising outcome.**

**The Association’s accounts continue to be maintained in accordance with good financial practice. Our auditor, Gouri Kubair, has agreed to be reappointed, and the Association’s financial controls remain consistent with the expectations of the Charity Commission.**

**I would like to thank the committee and all OSA members for their continued support and contribution throughout the year.**

2025 ProForma Report

The Book cover sales were marshalled by Maria Leahy. An amount remains outstanding on the b/s relating to cost paid on behalf of the association in 2020/21. This amount was due to be cleared in 2025 but will now be finally settled in April 2026. The sales for Book Covers have probably been miscategorized as part of Sundry events and highlights the importance of using the right code at POS.

## **4. 200 Club**

The 200 club memberships shown are those received during the year. Prizes and creditors included relate to draws for months in the year. Each winning ticket receives £50. The Metro bank account continues to run efficiently and is expertly marshalled by the scheme administrator, Alan Williams. A drive will continue to recruit more members to the scheme which generates income for the school and is a bit of fun as well.

## **5. Donations to Dame Alice Owen's School**

A contribution of £50,000 from Dec 2024 was cashed by the school in January 2025. A provision has been made for a payment of circa £55,000 from available funds to be made to the school in 2026 for activities related to 2025.

## **6. Easy Fundraising**

The Association receives a donation for old foreign coins collected. The association also receives charitable donations from Easy Fundraising when on-line purchases are made from retailers registered with either platform and the association is selected as the charity for donations.

**Independent** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have **examiner's statement** come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
