1. General
Charity Registration
The ‘Friends of Thomas Coram School’ has been a registered charity since November 1996. Its Registered Charity Number is 1059645. Its purpose is to raise funds to benefit the pupils at Thomas Coram Church of England School, Berkhamsted.
2. Total Net Income
Christmas Fair Net Income: £5,916.93 (2019 £4,502.83)
Due to Covid the Christmas fair was a different format this year and held during school hours for each individual year group. There were fun stalls with a variety of games and prizes to be won and tickets included a gift pack for each student. Christmas shop tickets were purchased separately. Parents still had the opportunity to take part in the Silent auction and hamper raffle and overall, this was the most profitable event of the year.
Big Night In: Net Income: £232.72
This was a new event devised by the co-chairs where families were given the opportunity to purchase a pack of movie night goodies and do an online quiz.
Outdoor Cinema: Net Income: £1,370 (2019 £949.403)
This was a new event devised by the co-chairs and proved to be very popular. Tickets were offered to all families for the opportunity to watch Spacejam in the school grounds under starlight with a hotdog included in the ticket price.
Disco: Net Income £1,303.32 (2019 £525.65)
A disco was held in the autumn term, split into LKS2 and UKS2. Profits were increased from selling snacks at the event.
Quiz Night: Net Income £1,498.66 (2019 £725.39)
The quiz night was run early in the autumn term as an opportunity for new parents to meet and show off their general knowledge skills. Income was generated by a cake auction on the evening and a heads and tails game, in addition to ticket sales. This quiz night raised a record breaking amount!
Film Nights: Net Income £753.05 (2020 £1,356.72)
Film nights were held throughout January 2022 with tickets and goody bags sold via the TicketTailor platform.

Bake Off: Net Income £626.66
Children were given the opportunity to enter a competition by baking a cake based on 3 themes. All entries were sold after judging. This proved hugely popular and there were some amazing entries!
Coin Count: Net Income £262.61 (2018 £515)
A coin count was organised that ran a competition between the classes to bring in the largest weight of coppers and foreign coins. These were then cashed in at the bank. It gave the children a very good opportunity to understand and discuss money from around the world and how they managed to collect the coins.
Jubilee Party: Net Income £1,694.43
This was a new event devised by the co-chairs to celebrate the Queens platinum jubilee. The event was held in the school field with a live band, hotdogs and some stalls selling sweets and light wands.
Sponsored Bounce: Net Income £1,391.18 (2019 £2,961)
In conjunction with the sports week that the school runs a sponsored bounce was organized where children gained sponsorship from family and friends to complete a number of bounces.
Sports Day Drinks: Net Income £229.44 (2019 £415)
Refreshments were supplied at the school sports day including a variety of cakes, drinks and fresh fruit on a very hot day!
Ice Cream Fri-Yay: Net Income £172.60
Ice creams were sold on the last Friday of the Summer term.
Circus: Net Income £6,027.02 (2019 £3,107)
As an alternative to the camping event a Circus was organised on a Sunday afternoon to set up and perform at the school. Tickets were offered to all schools in Berkhamsted to maximise attendance. A BBQ, where you could preorder, and a bar were also ran. The event was very successful and proved to be the second biggest fundraiser of the year
Hoodies: Net Income £132 (2021 £123.60)
School leavers were given the option of purchasing a hoodie to commemorate their time at Thomas Coram School. The cost was kept to a minimum to ensure all leavers could enjoy one of these with additional charges only levied for the adult sizes.
Second hand uniform: Net Income £150
2[nd] hand uniform was sold again at new parents meetings and school fairs.
Amazon Smile: Net Income £46.21 (2020 £54.18)
This was a new initiative promoted in 2020 whereby Amazon will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price of eligible orders to the chosen charity of the shopper.
