Humanitarian charitable support
Our objectives are set to reflect our faith and community aims. Each year
the trustees review these objectives and activities to ensure they
continue to reflect our aims. In carrying out this review the trustees have
considered the Charity Commission's general guidance on the
advancement of religion for the public benefit. Our dual aims remain to
provide a facility where Muslims can worship and be a community centre
catering for the needs of the local community. Our long-term ambition is
to build the self-confidence of the local Muslim community in their faith,
and through our community facilities and activities and to make them as
positive contributors not only to the local community but also to the
society at large.
Strategies
We want to make our facility an accessible and welcoming venue where
all Muslims and those who wish to know more about our faith, can come
to learn about Islam. An important part of our faith is charitable giving,
according to one's wealth, in accordance with Islam and we are pleased
to receive Zakat for the sole purpose of the relief of those in need and
financial hardship and of those who have insufficient money to cover for
their basic needs for shelter, food, clothing, or who are destitute with no
means of support. Also an important part of our strategy is community
welfare and education. All our community activities including classes,
health initiatives, workshops and seminars are widely advertised and we
welcome the participation of all in our local community. Most of our
activities are free and supported by donations.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the ststutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)

Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional infomation)
Grant-making policy
Those attending our activities have given generously to disaster appeals
arising from natural calamities affecting various countries around the
world. These donations are then handed over to the larger UK charities
that facilitate the distribution to the needy areas for which the appeals
were made. The charity also helps local community needs through giving
loans to individuals or other charitable organisations which are returned
over an agreed period
Investment policy and objectives
The charity's main short-temi investment plans include the purchase of a
building suitable to run it activities.
You may choose to include
further statements, where
relevant, about..

Volunteers
Volunteers are an important resource in both our faith and community
work. Volunteers are involved in most of our faith and community
activities and we have people and family members who regularly give up
their time as volunteer. All our trustees also give of their time freely. We
encourage all members to be involved in voluntary activities and to share
their skills with others. All those volunteers working with projects involving
children or other vulnerable groups will be DBS checked.
contribution made by
volunteers.
Public Benefit
The trustees have recognised the guidance in the Charity Commission's
general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the aims and
objectives of the charity and when planning activities. The difference the
charity makes for the public benefit is the furtherance of elevating
poverty.
Risk management
The trustees have assessed the risks the charity faces and have
identified the nature of the risks, the likelihood of the risks happening and
the measures needed to manage them. The trustees review these risks
and are satisfied that systems are in place, or arrangements are in hand,
to manage the risks that have been identified. In particular, the finances
of the charity are kept under review and appropriate Disclosure and
Barring servi￿ (DBS) checks will be carried out for all those who work
with children or other vulnerable groups within the services that the
charit
rovides.
