Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Magic Moments Pre-School continued to provide high quality, flexible care for 2 to 5 year olds.
The nursery had 16 children attending in the Autumn term, 16 in the Spring term and 19 in the Summer term.
There are now 5 staff members. Joanna Simpson stepped down as payroll clerk and Early Years Alliance now seal with salary and pension at a cost of £36/month.
The nursery fees were increased in September 2024 to £22.50 for the morning session, £18.75 afternoon session, £3.75 lunch, in line with other local nurseries.
Some of the rent payments for the 2023-2024 period were paid this year.

Total income during 2024-25 was £82,237. The main sources of income were from Grants (94%) and fees (3%). Fundraising amounted to 1.4%.
Total expenditure during 2024-25 was £81,342. The majority was spent on Staff Salaries and HMRC (77%) and rent costs (19%). The remainder was spent on equipment, consumables, subscriptions and admin overheads associated with running the pre-school.
- Overall, the nursery made a small profit of £895. The income was about £12,000 higher than last year, probably due to slightly more children attending. The expenditure was approximately £6,000 higher than last year.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/08/2025 .
Responsibilities and As the charity trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or

the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
