## Annual Pastoral Report 年度教牧報告 

_**Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.**_ 

Ephesians 4:15-16 

Shalom to all the brothers and sisters, may the peace of the Lord be with you all. Thank God for empowering His servants (Pastors Irene, Wai & Martin) to serve in Bristol Chinese Christian Church (BCCC), working with brothers and sisters under the lordship of our Lord Jesus Christ.The pastoral team is most pleased to bring you the 2023/2024 pastoral report. 

First, the pastoral team is very grateful for the morning service addition on 13 August 2023, and the attendance continued to grow in 2023-2024, with new families joining the morning service. The average attendance is 120-140 adults, 65-75 children and youths, a total of more than 200 people. The attendance for morning service has even outgrown the capacity of the morning service venue Coniston Community Centre since the beginning of 2024. We now need to search for a bigger venue. Please continue to pray for this ministry. 

There is also overall growth among the Sunday school, Sunday Youth Service and Rooted ministries. However, the teachers and leaders are still very limited. There is now a need to invite more teachers and helpers, and to train, so that there will be enough teachers and helpers for the Children and Youth Ministry (CYM). 

Another joyful experience is the increase of the university ministry across the board. Students who attend Living Water Fellowship and Canaan Fellowship have grown in numbers and continue to grow in maturity. May God bless them to continue to grow in their faith. Timothy Fellowship has also at the same time outgrown their meeting capacity, and they have tried to look for ways to accommodate their fellowship growth. While the MM fellowships have gone from strength to strength in terms of commitment to serve the Lord, and the overall increase in the knowledge of God. 

However, there is one area of need that we need to look to God for help. Some who serve in the Executive Committee and different serving teams have been stretching themselves too hard in terms of their serving capacity due to a big increase in church ministry needs. May God increase the committed brothers and sisters to serve together joyfully. 

In these mostly encouraging report, we need to keep praying for the below items: 

1. May the newly recruited pastors, and the forming of the pastoral team, bear more fruits in terms of teaching and ministering of the Gospel works. 

2. May the church continue to excel in the second-generation Gospel, as well as preaching the Gospel to the young. May God send more teachers and helpers to the Children and Youth Ministry. 

3. Pray that BCCC can be more actively involved in the church outreach works. 

4. Pray that God will call more committed brothers and sisters to partner together in the Gospel and build the body of Christ together. 

5. For God to provide a property for us to further the Gospel work, and for brothers and sisters to continue praying for God's provision of the church property. 

6. To pray for God to provide financially, when the church has recruited new pastoral workers, and this resulted in the increase of the church financial burden.

Looking ahead, BCCC can: 

1. Willingly receive the training as Jesus’ disciples through the biblical teaching from church fellowships, the influence of spiritual leaders and the build-up of strong spiritual relationships among each other. 

2. Establish faith-seeking, new believer and baptism classes to nurture the spiritual growth of our brothers and sisters and friends. 

3. Work together to receive new friends who will move to Bristol. 

4. Work together and actively partner with more local Christian churches, to witness the Gospel to communities in Bristol. 

5. Keep looking to God in His provision of a place of gathering, so we can revive the Gospel together there. May God’s wonderful will be done in all these. 

With our prayers, let us remember that we are giving all the glory to God in our faith, and not boasting our own achievements. This is what we insisted on preaching from 2023 to the beginning of 2024. 

May the things that we continue to do, and what we strive for, be all the offering of actions for our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. We will do as if we are doing unto our Lord. 

## **Pastoral Team of Bristol Chinese Christian Church** 

惟用愛心說誠實話，凡事長進，連於元首基督。全身都靠他聯絡得合式，百節各按各職，照著各體 的功用彼此相助，便叫身體漸漸增長，在愛中建立自己。 

## 以弗所書 4:15-16 

弟兄姐妹們平安，願神的平安跟你們同在。感謝神!讓祂的僕人陳月明牧師、韋智杰傳道和 蔡明發傳道在布里斯托華人基督教會侍奉，在主的帶領下牧者們與弟兄姊妹一同為主作工。教會 的教牧們帶著滿心感恩，給大家帶來2023/2024牧者年度報告。 

首先，牧者們都很感恩的是，新設的早堂崇拜已經在2023年8月13日開始進行，並且一直 經歷出席人數的增長，平均出席成人120-140人，小孩和青少年65-75人，合共總200多人。因著更 多家庭的加入早堂崇拜，早堂崇拜場地Coniston Community Centre 在 2024年年初已經無法滿 足成長的人數。教會現在需要尋找更大的早堂崇拜聚會場所，請為此繼續禱告。 

我們也看到過去的一年，兒童主日學，青少年主日崇拜，以及青少年的Rooted事工也有一 定的增長。但是，當老師以及領袖的事奉人員還是不夠應付。教會現在需要邀請和培訓更多的老 師和領袖，去應付兒童以及青少年事工的龐大需要。 

另一個令人喜樂的經歷，就是教會的大學生事工的成長。出席活水團契以及迦南團契的大 學生們，不只在人數上有成長，在靈命上也可以看到他們更成熟。求主讓他們繼續在信心裏得到 長進。提摩太團契在過去的一年增長，超過聚會場所可以容納的。團契也在盡量尋找方法應付團 契的增長。普通話事工的團契則是經歷整體的成長。可以說是在對神的委身，以及對神的認識方 面更加經歷神。 

然而，教會有一方面，我們需要求主幫助。我們當中，一些在執委會，以及別的事奉團隊的 弟兄姐妹盡心盡意服事，應付教會更多的需要。求主讓更多的弟兄姐妹一起投入服事，一起喜樂 地服事主。

## 因此，我們需要繼續為教會禱告： 

1. 求主讓新加入的牧者同工們組成一個有效的牧者團隊，一起在教導和福音事工方面配搭， 一起多結果子。 

2. 禱告教會更有效地服事信二代。求主差派更多的老師以及領袖服事兒童以及青少年事工。 

3. 禱告教會可以更多的參與福音外展事工。 

4. 求主興起更多的弟兄姐妹，一起在福音事工配搭，一起建立基督的身體。 

5. 我們的主供應一個合適的會址，讓教會有更多的福音拓展事工。也求主感動更多弟兄姐妹 不住的為這事禱告。 

6. 當教會的牧者團隊更多牧者的時候，求主供應教會經費上的龐大需要，以便應付新聘牧者 ，而增加的經費。 

## 展望未來: 

1. 教會能繼續透過團契提供教導、領袖的影響和屬靈關係的建立，願意接受栽培作主的門徒 ，一起順服神。 

2. 教會繼續開設慕道信仰班和浸禮班栽培新朋友和弟兄姊妹。 

3. 教會一起服事到Bristol的新移民朋友。 

4. 教會也將與本地教會有更多接觸和配搭的事工，向社區見證福音。 

5. 教會繼續仰望神提供神所預備的場所，在那裏一起興旺福音。求主在這一切的事上成就祂 的美意。讓我們不住為教會的需要禱告，也當記得我們應當凡是都歸榮耀給主，榮耀神而 不誇人的自我成就。這也是教會2023到2024年初的主日資訊裏的教導。 

讓我們持續行出的，我們往後竭力去行的，都是獻給我們榮耀的主耶穌。我們當為著榮耀 神而行。

Shalom Brothers and Sisters of Bristol Chinese Christian Church (BCCC), may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. 

Let us look at some of the key events in the year 2023/2024: 

|30/04/2023|The 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held physically after 2pm service for<br>presentation of annual reports, financial accounts and budget reports and voting for the<br>next EC. Brother Brian Lai, Sister Judy Ho, Brother Kevin Ip and Brother Wing Leung<br>Wong were elected as our Executive Committee (EC).|

|23/07/2023|Beginning of a series of Pastoral Worker Seeking Team (PWST) meetings.|
|25/07/2023|A 3-day Children Summer Camp was hosted by our Children and Youth Ministry (CYM).|
|06/08/2023|The 1st Special General Meeting (SGM) of the year was held and the motion for starting<br>of the morning service was passed.|
|13/08/2023|Our first morning service with Holy communion was held in Coniston Community Centre.|
|08/2023|Pastor Martin Choi on 6-month sabbatical leave.|

## Our Pastors 

We thank the Lord for His continual provision to our church! 

Within the Pastoral Team, Rev. Irene Chan, who will continue to be our Pastoral Advisor supporting BCCC and surrounding churches; whilst Ps. Martin Choi and Ps. Chee Kiat Wai will continue as full-time pastors of BCCC. Ps. Bee Yoong Lim, Ps. Janice Lam and Lilian Chan will be joining our pastoral team. 

As we have new members joining our pastoral team, there will be a change in each pastors’ responsibilities. However, before the pastoral team agrees the proposal with the CC, Ps. Choi will continue to oversee the Cantonese Ministry (CM) and provide support to the newly set up cell groups and fellowships within CM; Ps. Wai will continue to encourage and nurture the English Ministry (EM), Mandarin Ministry (MM) and CYM. 

In the coming year, the CC will be working to identify how best to cover our pastoral needs and build up our church. 

## Our Members 

Praise the Lord for adding more numbers to our congregation. Church membership has a stable increase. 

With the spatial limitation of Tyndale Baptist Church, we are grateful that God has provided us with the availability of Coniston Community Centre such that we can develop a spiritual base in North Bristol. We believe that it is very important to cater and provide for the spiritual needs of the people whom God has given BCCC. 

Apart from that, we would also like to provide more discipleship training, pastoral support and leaders development activities to all ministries. These will give us more opportunities to grow and to be able to support each other within the church. We would like to work with ministry leaders to provide what is best for our congregations. 

Last but not least, we are continuing our support to Brother Michael Chu on his theology study; as well as beginning to support Brother Benson Lai in his journey on full time theology study. We encourage brothers and sisters to support them financially as well as in prayers. 

The CC will continue to ensure transparent and open communication with our members. We would also like all of you to continue to provide us with constructive feedback. 

## Church property 

We would like to thank the CIO team and the Constitution Amendment Team for their efforts in progressing with the Church’s legal identity change and any future support. We are grateful for brothers and sisters’ willingness to offer their gifts and talents in this area for the glory of God. Our growing need for our own venue for fellowshipping and worshipping has been expedited in the past year. As many of our children, youth and families need additional space for gathering, we will continue to work with the Church Property Seeking Team once our Church becomes a CIO in the coming year. In God’s timing , may we find the suitable property that our Lord has prepared for us.

感謝主為我們加添人數。教會會友人數有穩定的增長。 

由於 Tyndale Baptist Church 能容納的人數有限，我們很感恩神為我們提供 Coniston Community Centre，讓我們在北布里斯托能有一個屬靈基地。我們相信牧養信徒是非常重要的。 

除此以外，我們亦有需要計劃提供更多的門徒訓練，牧養上的支持和發展各語言事工領袖的 活動。這樣能給予我們有更多機會成長和在教會中彼此鼓勵。我們願意與事工領袖們一起合作，為 我們會眾提供最好的。 

最後，我們將繼續支持朱仲銘弟兄進修神學；並開始對黎敬謙弟兄全時間修讀神學的支持。 我們鼓勵弟兄姊妹在經濟上及禱告上支持他們。 

教會議會將繼續確保我們與會友之間能保持良好的溝通及透明度。我們亦希望你們能繼續給 我們提供有建設性的回應。 

## 教會物業
