Annual Pastoral Report 年度教牧報告
First, thank God for empowering His servants (Pastors Irene, Wai & Martin) to serve in Bristol Chinese Christian Church (BCCC), working with brothers and sisters under the lordship of our Lord Jesus Christ. Under the leadership of the Lord, our pastors and brothers and sisters have worked together for the Lord. In the past year, the church came out from the effect of the new coronavirus, church activities and ministries have resumed. From January 2022, we started hosting 4:30 pm Cantonese Sunday services. Responding to the increase in the number of people participating in the service, the church has also started the 10:30am Sunday Cantonese fellowship in the Patchway area, so far, we have around 170-200 participants, including adults, youths and children. In the near future, our goal is for this fellowship to develop into a Sunday Cantonese Morning Service. We hope that as more new immigrants from Hong Kong come to settle in Bristol or neighbouring areas, the number of participants will continue to grow. We continue to encourage brothers & sisters to participate in physical Sunday services so as to enhance their fellowship together. Since the attendance of the 4:30 pm Cantonese service was maintained at around 10-20, the Church Council decided to cancel this service in April 2023. Due to the limited space of Tyndale Baptist Church, our church continues actively looking for other properties that can be used for Sunday service and fellowship meetings. We believe that with continuous prayers, God will provide a larger and more suitable venue for our church. Except for a few fellowship groups, most of the fellowships have already returned to physical gatherings, and the number of participants has increased at the same time.
The Children and Youth Ministry (CYM), which many leaders care for, has experienced ministry growth and adjustments. The CYM not only has Children Sunday School for children up to Year 6 and Rooted Fellowship on Saturday evenings, but also started the Sunday Youth Service at 2:00pm and the Sunday Youth Activity at 10:30 am. We give thanks to God, for He has led the teachers, the team and the committee to work together and bring growth in CYM ministry. May God be glorified in these ministries.
The Mandarin ministry also experienced growth in the Canaan Students Fellowship. Four evangelistic meetings were held from October 2022 to March 2023. Other Mandarin-speaking brothers and sisters continued to be encouraged to be more committed to church ministry through gatherings, attending worship and fellowship, as well as pastoral care.
The English Ministry supported and assisted church developments, including the planning of the Morning Service, the Church CIO transition, and the future new pastoral recruitment. The first all-age English service, in recent years, was held with close to eighty who attended. More all-age service will be organised with the Sunday Youth Service committee in the near future. Brothers and sisters are looking for more cross-ministry opportunities. Praise God, by His grace, the Young Family Fellowship continues to experience growth with more families joining, currently, up to 14 families are participating in this fellowship.
In the past year, we witnessed 16 brothers and sisters from across ministries being baptised to glorify God’s name. At the same time, our church has seen that many new immigrants from Hong Kong have settled in Bristol or nearby areas. The past few years, we have contacted 300 new immigrant families and they have arrived in Bristol or nearby areas. It is anticipated that more families will arrive from June to August of 2023. About half of the previously connected new immigrant families started to participate in the church's worship and fellowships. We are also grateful for the church brothers and

sisters who have actively served them, especially the new friends who just moved to Bristol. Our church and Broadmead Baptist Church worked together to hold an English conversation class and an English Alpha course for new immigrants, each course with about 20 - 30 people attending, half of which are non-believers, thanks be to our Lord! In the coming year, the church hopes to continue cooperating with local churches to hold English conversation classes and English Alpha courses to advance evangelism. Our church continues to serve the homeless, and the annual Bristol Noise community service event. May BCCC partner more with local churches and Christian organisations, so that we can effectively bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the communities.
Looking back, it was a year of big changes. From the pastoral perspective, some lives experienced big change, some fellowships experienced changes. BCCC also experienced big changes from the starting of 4:30pm Cantonese Service to ending, the start of the Sunday Youth Service, in addition to the morning worship service that is currently being actively prepared, etc.. We praise God for the changes, we also praise Him for the opportunities to evangelise and spread the Gospel. May all the growth, all the changes, all the improvement be progressed in delight of God.
Looking ahead, BCCC can: (1) Willingly receive the training as Jesus’ disciples through the biblical teaching from church fellowships, the influence of spiritual leaders and the build up of strong spiritual relationships among each other. (2) Establish faith-seeking, new believer and baptism classes to nurture the spiritual growth of our brothers and sisters and friends. (3) Work together to receive new friends who will move to Bristol. (4) Work together and actively partner with more local Christian churches, to witness the Gospel to communities in Bristol. (5) Keep looking to God in His provision of a place of gathering, so we can revive the Gospel together there. May God’s wonderful will be done in all these.
Finally, we would end with Ephesians 4:16: "From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." Pray that God will continue to use the pastoral team, the executive committee, the leaders of the sub-committees, brothers and sisters, so that they can use their different gifts to build the church. May brothers and sisters grow together in the Lord and are willing to accept training to become disciples so that the church can continue to grow and preach the gospel and glorify the name of our Lord in Bristol and neighbouring areas! May grace and peace be with you from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!

感謝神!讓祂的僕人陳月明牧師、韋智杰傳道和蔡明發傳道在布里斯托華人基督教會侍奉，在主的帶領 下牧者們與弟兄姊妹一同為主作工。過往一年，教會已經從新冠狀病毒的影響恢復過來，各項事工回復 正常運作。教會由2022年1月開始設有下午4時半的廣東話實體崇拜，並且因參與實體崇拜的人數增長， 香港新移民陸續來到布里斯托或鄰近地區定居，教會亦於2023年1月15日在Patchway地區開設一個週日 廣東話團契，現參加總人數(包括成年人、青少年和兒童) 約有170至200 人。在未來的日子，我們的目標 是將廣東話團契發展為早上廣東話崇拜。我們希望隨著越來越多的香港新移民來到布里斯托或鄰近地 區定居，，參與聚會的人數會繼續增長，我們也繼續鼓勵弟兄姊妹參加實體崇拜，增加肢體相交的機會。 同時，鑑於出席下午4時半實體崇拜出席人數的減少，出席率維持在10-20人，所以教會決定從2023年4月 份開始取消下午4時半的實體崇拜，因著Tyndale 教會場地使用的限制，教會現階段亦積極尋找物業，我 們相信繼續禱告，上帝必然供應更大更合適的場地給教會崇拜和小組聚會之用。至於教會小組團契方面 ，現時大部份都恢復了實體聚會，參加人數同時有所增長。
同時，許多領袖關心的兒童及青少年事工也經歷了事工成長。這事工現在除了星期日的兒童主日學、星 期六晚的Rooted青少年團契以外，還開始了週日下午2時的青少年崇拜和週日早上10時半的青少年活 動。感謝神，在整個進展過程中的帶領，讓老師們、帶領的事工委辦和服事團隊都經歷成長。願主繼續從 這個事工裡得着祂自己的榮耀。
普通話的事工也在迦南學生團契經歷了人數的增長。學生團契裡從2022十月到2023三月已經辦了四個 福音聚會。其他的普通話弟兄姐妹繼續透過聚會、出席崇拜和團契，加上平日的牧養關懷被鼓勵，更多 的委身與教會事工。
英語事工的弟兄姐妹也在過去一年協助了教會的發展，包括在預備開設廣東話早堂崇拜、教會轉型至慈 善法人組織(CIO) 和將來在聘請新的牧者裡都參與了籌備和計劃。英語事工和青少年崇拜委辦一起舉辦 了近年來第一個的跨年齡英文崇拜，約有80人參與。日後將再辦更多跨年齡的英語崇拜。英語事工未來 還會聯絡不同的事工興起不同的跨事工合作。蒙神的恩典，英語的年輕家庭團契過去一年經歷了成長， 有14個家庭活躍地參加這個團契。
在過往一年裏，教會見證了16位弟兄姊妹受浸，榮耀主名! 同時，有不少香港新移民已或將會定居於布 里斯托或鄰近地區。到現在為止，我們已累計接觸了300多個新移民家庭，未來2023年6至8月份內將會 有更多家庭來臨，已來臨的新移民家庭弟兄姊妹中，約半數開始參加了教會的崇拜和團契聚會。除此以 外，我們感恩教會的一些弟兄姐妹願意更主動地付出去接待不同的弟兄姐妹，尤其是剛搬遷到布里斯托 的新朋友。教會和Broadmead 浸信會合作舉辨英語會話班和英語啟發課程，各出席人數約有20至30人， 吸引了一半未信主的朋友參加，感謝主！同時，在英文的事工和中國大學生當中，個別也有信主的人。 我們看到神在不同的群體當中，祂都帶領人信主。在未來一年裏，教會繼續與本地教會合作，舉辨英語 會話班和英語啟發課程，推動福音事工。教會亦有繼續服事無家者，和參與一年一度的 Bristol Noise 社 區服務活動。願BCCC更多與本地教會和基督教組織合作，使我們能夠有效地將耶穌基督的福音帶到社 區。
回顧過去的一年，是教會經歷大轉變的一年。從牧養的角度，一些生命經歷了一些大的改變，團契也是 一樣。教會也經歷了大的改變，從下午4時半崇拜的開始到停止，開設了青少年崇拜，再加上現正積極籌 備的早堂崇拜等。教會因著這些改變讚美神，更為著可以在福音事工和傳福音的工作裡面服侍神感恩。 我們願意所有的長進，所有的改變和進步都在神的喜悅裡面進行。
一 展望未來: ( )教會能繼續透過團契提供教導、領袖的影響和屬靈關係的建立，願意接受栽培作主的門 徒，一起順服神。(二)教會開設慕道信仰班和浸禮班栽培新朋友和弟兄姊妹。(三)教會一起服事到Bristol 的新移民朋友。(四)教會也將與本地教會有更多接觸和配搭的事工，向社區見證福音。(五)教會繼續仰望 神提供神所預備的場所，在那裡一起興旺福音。求主在這一切的事上成就祂的美意。
最後，讓我們以這節經文作結束。以弗所書 4:16「全身都靠他聯絡得合式，百節各按各職，照着各體的功 用彼此相助，便叫身體漸漸增長，在愛中建立自己。」求神繼續大大使用教牧同工們、執委們、各分委會 領袖及弟兄姊妹，叫他們能運用各樣的恩賜發展教會事工，盼望弟兄姊妹能在主裏一起成長和願意接受 栽培成為主基督的門徒，使教會能得以持續增長，在布里斯托和鄰近地區，傳揚福音，榮耀主名！願恩 惠、平安從神我們的父和主耶穌基督歸與你們！阿們！

Let us look at some of the key events in the year 2022/2023:
| 24/04/2022 | The 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held physically after 2pm service for presentation of annual reports, financial accounts and budget reports and voting for the next EC. Brother Benson Lai and Brother Wing Leung Wong were elected as our Executive Committee (EC) whilst Sister Mona Kou continued into her second year of her previously elected duty. In addition, the motions for BCCC to transition from Charity Trust to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and for the 2022-23 ECs to be the CIO trustees were passed. |

Our Pastors
We thank the Lord for His continual provision to our church!
Within the Pastoral Team, Rev. Irene Chan, who will continue to be our Pastoral Advisor supporting BCCC and surrounding churches; whilst Ps. Martin Choi and Ps. Chee Kiat Wai will continue as full-time pastors of BCCC. Within the Pastoral Team, they will be supporting each other in all aspects of leading the church.
Ps. Choi will continue to oversee the Cantonese Ministry (CM) and provide support to the newly set up cell groups and fellowships within CM. Ps. Wai will continue to encourage and nurture the English Ministry (EM), Mandarin Ministry (MM) and CYM. Both Pastors will continue to support the development of the Sunday Morning Service with the CC and the Morning Service Planning Committee (MSPC).
In the coming year, the CC will be working with the Pastoral Worker Seeking Team (PWST) to identify our potential pastoral care gap, such that we can propose and agree with membership on the requirements of the new pastoral worker, hence begin the pastoral hiring process.
Our Members
Praise the Lord for adding more numbers to our congregation. Church membership has also followed the trend and has a stable increase with the majority of new members being new congregants from Hong Kong.
With the spatial limitation of Tyndale Baptist Church, we are grateful that God has provided us with the Coniston Community Centre such that we can begin to develop a spiritual base in North Bristol. We believe that it is very important to cater and provide for the spiritual needs of the people whom God has given BCCC; but we also recognise that setting up a new Sunday Morning Service in a different venue is a huge step for BCCC. Therefore we urge each and everyone of you to continue to pray about this and work together with the CC. Let us put aside the past and witness God’s amazing plan for BCCC. As a family in Christ, continue to walk this path together such that when people see us, they see God’s love in us.

Apart from that, we would also like to look into providing more discipleship training, pastoral support and leaders development activities to all ministries. These will give us more opportunities to grow and to be able to support each other within the church. In addition, more resources and planning support will be provided to EM, MM and CYM as our major focus last year has been for CM. We would like to work with ministry leaders to provide what is best for our congregations.
Last but not least, we are continuing our support to Brother Michael Chu on his theology study; as well as beginning to support Brother Benson Lai in his journey on full time theology study. We encourage brothers and sisters to support them financially as well as in prayers.
The CC will continue to ensure transparent and open communication with our members. We would also like all of you to continue to provide us with constructive feedback.
Church property
We would like to thank the CIO team and the Constitution Amendment Team for their efforts in progressing with the Church’s legal identity change and any future support. We are grateful for brothers and sisters’ willingness to offer their gifts and talents in this area for the glory of God. Our growing need for our own venue for fellowshipping and worshiping has been expedited in the past year. As many of our children, youth and families need additional space for gathering, we will continue to work with the Church Property Seeking Team once our Church becomes a CIO in the coming year. In God’s timing , may we find the suitable property that our Lord has prepared for us.

我們的牧者
我們感謝主不斷供應我們的教會！
在教牧團隊中，陳月明牧師將會繼續擔任 BCCC 的顧問牧師並支持鄰近的教會；蔡明發傳道及韋智杰傳道 將繼續擔任 BCCC 的全職牧者。在牧養團隊中，他們將彼此鼓勵支持，在各方面一起帶領教會。
蔡明發傳道將繼續照顧廣東話事工(CM)及為新成立的廣東話小組及團契提供支援。韋智杰傳道將繼續鼓勵 及牧養英語事工(EM)，普通話事工(MM)及兒童與青少年事工(CYM)。兩位牧者將繼續與教會議會和早堂崇 拜籌備委員會(MSPC)一起發展早堂主日崇拜。
在未來的一年，教會議會將會與聘牧團隊 (PWST) 合作，釐定我們在牧養方面的需要，以便我們能夠為新牧 養同工的要求提出建議並與會友達成一致，從而能夠開始聘請牧者的程序。
我們的會友
感謝主為我們加添人數。教會會友人數亦因這個緣故有穩定的增長，當中大部份新會友都是從香港移居到 英國的會眾。
由於 Tyndale Baptist Church 能容納的人數有限，我們很感恩神為我們提供 Coniston Community Centre，讓我 們在北布理斯托能有一個屬靈基地。我們相信牧養信徒是非常重要的；但我們更明白在另一處地方成立一 個新的主日早堂崇拜亦是 BCCC 的一大挑戰。因此我們鼓勵你們每一位都為此禱告，並與教會同工。讓我 們放下過去並一同見證神為 BCCC 所定下的奇妙計劃。作為主內的一家人，我們應繼續同心向前，讓所有 看見我們的人，都能看見神的大愛在我們當中。
除此以外，我們亦有需要計劃提供更多的門徒訓練，牧養上的支持和發展各語言事工領袖的活動。這樣能 給予我們有更多機會成長和在教會中彼此鼓勵。另外由於去年我們把焦點大部份集中在廣東話事工上，所 以今年我們將會把更多資源給予發展英語事工，普通話事工和兒童及青少年事工。我們願意與事工領袖們 一起合作，為我們會眾提供最好的。
最後，我們將繼續支持朱仲銘弟兄進修神學；並開始對黎敬謙弟兄全時間修讀神學的支持。我們鼓勵弟兄 姊妹在經濟上及禱告上支持他們。
教會議會將繼續確保我們與會友之間能保持良好的溝通及透明度。我們亦希望你們能繼續給我們提供有 建設性的回應。

教會物業
我們感謝 CIO 團隊及教會憲章修訂團隊為教會在法律上的轉變及未來動向的支持。我們亦感謝弟兄姊妹為 神的榮耀運用他們的恩賜和才能。我們一直渴求能夠擁有自己的物業作為團契和崇拜的地方。由於我們的 孩子們，青少年們及家庭都需要更多的空間一起聚會，在教會成為 CIO 後，我們將會繼續與教會物業搜購 團隊合作。在神的計劃裏，願我們在合適的時間尋找到主為我們安排的物業。
