Frinton Area Churches Together (FACT)

Membership of FACT: St Mary’s Parish Church, Frinton; Frinton Free Church, Frinton; Frinton Methodist Church, Frinton; Frinton Gospel Chapel, Frinton; Sacred Heart and St Francis Catholic Church, Frinton on Sea; Homelands Free Church, Walton on the Naze; Coastlands Community Church, Walton on the Naze; Thorpe Le Soken Baptist Church, Thorpe Le Soken. During 2024 two of the churches had new ministers; Rev Funmilayo Vaughan at St Mary’s and Rev Sarah Phillpot at Homelands Free Church.

We work together with combined services on Maundy Thursday and Pentecost and during the summer organise a mission for children and young people which replaced a mission organized by Scripture Union. This is a week of activities for children and young people and also Life Line for adults. The children’s activities take place in the churches in Frinton and Walton with afternoon games activities in the churches and also in the marquee which is erected on Frinton Greensward. The activities are organized by a subgroup of FACT called Frinton Mission. All the children groups are organized and staffed by volunteers from local churches and from people who return to Frinton for the Mission. There are over 100 volunteers who run these groups and staff the large tent that is used for activities

There are also 2 groups Love Frinton and Love Walton who are around the two towns meeting and talking to the townspeoples of the towns to share the message of Jesus. In the evenings there are activities for families including a quiz, Music from the shows, and other evening activites.

The Mission starts with a service on the first Sunday afternoon and concludes with a final service on the final Sunday morning.

Frinton Mission is subsidised by the churches and also by donations from the visitors who attend the various activities and by the parents of the children. The Charity is in a good financial position with enough money to continue the running of the charity

In Walton on the Naze there is also a Walton Churches Together with All Saints Parish Church, Walton on the Naze, Emmanuel Church, a joint United Reform and Methodist Church . We are working with Walton Churches Together and the Charity Commission to join together to become Coastal Churches Together.
