Residential care for one or two severely physically disabled young people where day care cannot meet the need, usually due to neglect or severe disability;
Providing subsidised transportation (free for the most needy) for the day children to enable them to come on a regular basis; and
Providing physiotherapy; humanitarian and medical aid for needy disabled children and young people at the Sheepfold and their families; as well as helping to provide rehabilitation aids, eg wheelchairs for them.
ACHIEVEMENT PERFORMANCE 2024
Within Reach supports The Sheepfold’s work with disadvantaged children and young people with disabilities in the Bethlehem area, West Bank.
By the grace of God we have been able to continue the humanitarian aid and rehabilitation programme by providing monthly aid in the form of medications, disposable nappies, medical expenses to a number of children and young people; physiotherapy, and also residential care costs for a severely disabled young lady.
Humanitarian and Rehabilitation Aid Programme It was a joy and privilege to be able to continue helping needy children and their families in this way. The humanitarian aid includes medications, medical expenses and diapers; and the rehabilitation aid provides physiotherapy, wheelchairs and other aids as needed.
A number of severely disabled children/young people were helped in 2024 on a monthly basis through the provision of diapers, medications and medical expenses, according to need. Two children were provided with physiotherapy in their homes. All of those helped come from very poor families.
In addition, occasional help with medications, medical fees/expenses, and other essentials were provided to others of the Sheepfold’s disadvantaged children and their families.
October 23 The day centre was closed due to the military closure of Bethlehem following the war in Gaza. Physiotherapy in children’s homes continued along with the monthly supply of medications and diapers to needy children and young people in the Syheepfold's care.
Finances
Income 2024: In 2024, £13,499 was received and £27,325 was brought forward from 2023. Expenditure: In 2024 expenditure totalled £15,684, and a balance of £25,140 was carried forward to the 2025 account.
Sources of Income
Most long-term supporters/sources of support continued. The First Century
Foundations Charity in Canada very generously donated towards the humanitarian/rehabilitation aid program; ABCD
(Action around Bethlehem for Children with Disabilities) now donates
quarterly; a number of churches donated once or twice in the year; and our faithful individual supporters continued their vital, generous support.
Thank God that despite these very challenging times, the Sheepfold was able to carry on its outreach through humanitarian and rehabilitation aid to
disadvantaged and disabled children and young people in the Bethlehem area, touching and transforming their lives and giving them dignity, value and hope.
