||||||Squads work hard to develop their|
||||||gymnasts<br>to a level where they can|
||||||compete<br>in local, national,<br>and even|
||||||international<br>levels.|
||||||We continued<br>to adapt this year with|

||||||During the year TG AGS &Artistic took|
||||||part in various competitions<br>and grades|
||||||TeamGym junior boys qualified,|
||||||competed<br>and came third<br>in the British|
||||||Finals in April 2022. It is the first time|
||||||WGC have had ajunior boys team|
||||||compete at the Finals.|
||||||This year because of Covid we were not|
||||||able to carry out our annual<br>gala, we are|
||||||now busy preparing<br>the 2023 Gala. The|
||||||theme is Mystical, mythical,<br>magic.|
||||||Waterside<br>gym club also realise the|
||||||importance<br>ofcoach involvement<br>and|
||||||development<br>and pay for all necessary|
||||||training courses. During the year we|
||||||have<br>ut thou<br>h 9x Level 1 coaches in|

|both Team Gym and Artistic.<br>We also|
|---|
|have a further 4booked on for this year.|
|As expected however,<br>we lose a high|
|proportion<br>ofour junior coaches each|
|year to university<br>and this year has|
|been no exception. While many ofthem|
|do often return to coach in the holidays,|
|it does increase the staffing<br>levels|
|pressure<br>during term time. We are|
|therefore<br>currently<br>encouraging<br>and|
|nurturing<br>new juniors into the role of|
|coaching to help build our support<br>base. We are also actively looking to|
|recruit new parents tojoin our bank of|
|parent helpers and possible future|
|coaching staff as coaching numbers<br>is|
|something<br>that the club is struggling|

|problem at the moment,<br>within<br>both|

|and so WGC is currently<br>working<br>hard|
|to encourage<br>members to offer as much|
|oras little time as they can in order to|
|ensure the club's survival.|
|All coaches are also required to|
|complete<br>regular safeguarding<br>courses|

|concern||||||||mildly noticeable<br>within the junior level,||
|||||||||it is very problematic<br>from an||
|||||||||adult/parent<br>level. WGC rely heavily on a||
|||||||||strong, voluntary,<br>parental<br>helper basis||
|||||||||who, often go on to excel and undertake||
|||||||||more responsibilities<br>by completing||
|||||||||coaching exams. With less and less||
|||||||||adults able to give up time to the club,||
|||||||||we in turn have less and less coaches||
|||||||||coming through<br>the system. WGC also||
|||||||||recognise that the majority ofsessions||
|||||||||rely on a handful<br>of high-level<br>coaches||
|||||||||who have worked for the club for a long||
|||||||||time, with several looking to possibly||
|||||||||step down<br>in the near future. This is a||
|||||||||serious concern for Waterside as, at||
|||||||||present, we do not necessarily<br>have the||
|||||||||coaching levels for new people to step||
|||||||||up to take over the running<br>ofthe||
|||||||||sessions. Therefore, the club is||
|||||||||currently<br>advertising<br>for new members||
