They are taught and given

both winning
and losing
are encouraged.
Squads work hard to develop their
gymnasts
to a level where they can
compete
in both regional and national
levels.
Covid changed operations for Waterside
drastically
this year.
It's necessary
rules and
regulations
meant we needed to adapt quickly
and accordingly.
While physical training
could
obviously
not continue,
we instantly
changed to
online lessons for squad gymnasts
and later
introduced
outside lessons as rules relaxed
slightly. We also had to reduce class sizes and cut
sessions to limit numbers
and mixing of
disciplines/children.
During the year because ofCovid no
Artistic grades were gained, but the
squad continued to work hard for the
2021 grades.
Teamgym
and AGS gymnasts
worked
hard
despite the disruption
ofCovid, and took part in
two virtual competitions
during
lockdown.
Routines were filmed at home with
all gymnasts
having to fulfil certain individual
criteria and
several medals were won in the process.

uncertainties about the year, but we adapted to online lessons
charity continuing as a going for squads,
until we could open the
concern doors again, even ifonly briefly.
We
finally opened
in October 20, but had to
close again in November
20,we then
managed to open in December till
January
21 when we then closed again
until April 2021,when we did reopen, we
had to reduce class time due to trying to
limit crossover of Gym classes to try to
reduce risks ofGovid.
The club is run by people in their spare time so
reading,
understanding
and acting on covid
information
as it constantly
changed was very
laborious
and time consuming
but managed
due to a dedicated team who were determined
to be ready to operate and open our doors
again to the children
as soon as feasibly
possible.
But we feel in good position
moving
forward.
