Children attending**<br>**our sessions benefit from opportunities**<br>**to learn and socialise under the**<br>**guidance of well-trained, experienced,**<br>**and enthusiastic staff.**<br>**Recognising that play is essential to**<br>**child development, all experiences and**<br>**activities at the Cylch Meithrin are based**<br>**on foundation phase principles and**<br>**learning through play. We place great**<br>**emphasis on early language, literacy,**<br>**and communication skills, as well as**<br>**social and personal development. All**<br>**services are provided through the**<br>**medium of Welsh. The Cylch operates**<br>**daily, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am**<br>**onwards.**<br>**We support 2-year-old children in**<br>**designated Flying Start areas with 12.5**<br>**hours of childcare per week.**<br>**Additionally, 3-year-old children who**<br>**qualify for funding (from the term after**<br>**their third birthday) receive 10 hours of**<br>**funded childcare per week. The 30-hour**<br>**free childcare scheme offers 20 hours of**<br>**grant-funded provision for children aged**<br>**3 and above. These three grant streams**<br>**are our main sources of finance, with**<br>**additional income generated through**<br>**independent placements, fundraising,**<br>**and charitable donations.**<br>**Our Cylch is run by qualified,**<br>**experienced staff. As a Flying Start**<br>**provider, every staff member is either**<br>**qualified to NVQ Level 3 or working**<br>**towards it, while the leader and manager**<br>**hold NVQ Level 5 qualifications. All staff**<br>**members possess current child**<br>**protection certificates. The leader**<br>**ensures that at least one staff member**<br>**with a first aid certificate is present at**<br>**each session, and all staff hold**<br>**paediatric first aid and food safety**<br>**certificates.**|
