Scouts: We have had an amazing year. Our summer camp
to Italy was a huge success. Scouts had the opportunity to
traverse Via Ferrata route (fixed cables, ladders etc to scale
the mountains), wild swim in mountain lakes, use cable cars,
experience Italian food and culture and finish off with a
bobsled ride on an Olympic track. The overarching theme of
the feedback we have had from both Scouts and leaders is
one of friendship. comradery, and building self confidence in
a safe and supportive environment that the scout movement
prides itself on.
In the lead up to this trip a massive amount of time and effort
was put in to fundraising. Many Grants were applied,
businesses approaches for sponsorship and activities such
as supermarket bag packs, a sponsored abseil (down local
church tower), raffles and many more.
Both activities conducted by Scouts through the year were
operation nightmare, ￿lch was very wet but good fun. An
ovemight camp to a Polish Scout centre with hiking along the
river We where Scouts did all their own cooking.
