**Objects:** (1) TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN GEOGRAPHY HISTORY NATURAL HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT.  (2)  TO PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE IN OR AFFECTING THE AREA OF BENEFIT.  (3)  TO SECURE THE PRESERVATION PROTECTION DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF FEATURES OD HISTORIC OR PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT

**Activities:** The Society is the amenity society covering the whole Brixton area, the central part of the London Borough of Lambeth.The Society takes a close interest in planning, regeneration and conservation, and attempts to promote good practice in these fields.  It is also a respected source of local history information, with several publications in print.
