Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's Irustees. you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordan￿ with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 I'lhe Act.). I report in respecl of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515)(bl of the Act. This increase was principally driven by an additional £3.000 each in dojo hire. donations and shopl teamwear sales income and a rise of approximately £8,000 in membership subscription income. Cost of Sales Cost of sales increased to £28,383, compared with £17,145 in 2024. This was primarily attributable to a(Jditional funding provide(J for competitions and competition grants, both within the UK and overseas. Expendlture Expenditure increased significantly to £108,862, compared with £58,994 in 2024. This was primarily due to substantial investment in improvements to the dojo and the purchase of new matting. Reserves The Club reported a deficit for the year of £13,447, compared with a surplus of £26,763 in 2024. Total unrestricted reserves stood at £93,158 8s at 31 December 2025. These reserves provide assurance that the charity can continue to operate for the foreseeable future. meet its liabilities as they fall due, and m8intain and renew its assets 8s necessary. The financial outlook for 2026 currently indicates a broadly break-evenl small deficit position. While some further improvement and maintenance works are planneij. expenditure is not expected to be at the same level as in 2025. One regular source of rental income has now ceased. however, the Committee remains hopeful that this will be replaced through a new agreement. The Committee rem8ins extremely grateful for the continued support of all volunteers and for the fundraising undertaken during the year. including the valuable contribution from th8 monthly gradings led by Kim Tilley. Chalrman's Report: Introduction: Good eveningeveryone and thankyou allforattendingthis year'sAGM. The purpose of tonight's meeting is to action our formal club constitutional requirements- to elect new committee members, to approve the club financial 8ccounts for the calendar year 2025 8nd to highlight the running of the club over the period 25-26. Firstly, I would like to begin by recognising and thanking our outstanding coaching team for their continued dedication, commitment, and professionalism throughout the year, the hours spent preparing sessions, travelling to competitions, mentoring players, organising events, and maintainingthe high standards within the club often go unseen. but are invaluable. Without the hard work and efforts of the coaching team, the continued success 8nd growth of the club simplywould not be possible, so on behalf of everyone at the club, a big thankyou for everything you do. Club Membership & Growth: This ye8r has continued to show positive development within the Glub, with membership numbers remaining strong and new members joining across all age groups. Key Points Continued growth within beginners &junior membership sections. Strong retention of existing members across all age Gategories. Increased participation atclub trainingsessions 8nd events. Positive club atmosphere helping attract new members and families. Ongoing commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Overall, we seem to have increased membership from NEST data from May 25- May 26, which is excellent news, Club membership approx. 100/0 increase in membership between October 2024 and October 2025with their now being around 235 members atthe club. Player Development: Player development remains at the heart of the club, and it has been excellent to see continued progress across all sections throughout the year. The addition and continued success of the Strength & Conditioning sessions run by Steve Prower have provided players with an excellent opportunity to further develop their physic81 preparation. f itness, injury prevention, and overall performance levels. These sessions have become an important part of many players, development and have been greatly appreciated by 811 those attending. We would also like to congratulate those members who have achieved Dan grade success this year. Dan Grade Achievements: Congratulations to Chung Hang Kwok & Samuel Brady on achieving their 1". Dans. Clairewoolerton also achieved her 1st Dan after a near20-ye8r layoff so verywell done. Congratulations to Arnold Moldovan & Maria Gaidamachenko on achieving their 2nd dans both have been competing regularly on the circuit so very well done. Our head coach Jason Woolerton achieved his 3, dan which is brilliant & long overdue. Thomas Humphry attained his4th Dan. D8vid Rance achieved his 6tn Dan which is 8 massive milestone so verywell done he was presented this by Karen Roberts earlier in the year. All the above achievements reflect their hard work, dedication, and commitment to training over many years so very well done all of you. Training Development: Regular training sessions have been well-attended. from the beginners through to advanced classes- these sessions provide excellent tuition to the player5 from the c08ching teams all our sessions. A huge thanks to all our assistant coaches- Kiera/Callum/Noah & Masha who have and are a m8ssive help with various sessions throughout the week. Another big achievement goesto Neil & Ewan Campbell & Masha Gaid8machenko Tom Palmer, Phoebie Deacon & Charlotte Kaywho are now all Part of the BJA referring team, this is a great accomplishment showing dedication commitment to the sport so very well done. Competitions & Achievements: Pinewood has been well represented 8t local and regional competitions, with notable results at the Cadet British nationals with a Silver Medal going to Sophie Cook & Bronze medal to Areya Wilson. Precadet English open brought in gold medals from James Podlecki & Hadi Kayani, Beth Egby & Beau Green taking Silvers & Josh Woolerton with a Well- deserved Bronze, along with Olivia Spellman taking the gold medal in the seniors alongwith Steve Prowertaking a Bronze and Arnold Moldovan taking Gold in their respective categories at the English veterans open. Always a great experience are th8 European events and again this year we took a team over to Antwerp- They managed an impressive haul of medals with special mentions to our younger players Hugh Levett Hadi Kayani & Beth Egby taking Golds with Lan Zhang and Nasha Guadchenko taking Silvers medals, Alex Egby, Asher Price and Daniel Dalls taking Bronzes. so a massive achievement and great experience gained by all. Must say a big thankyou to all those parents that 81so came on the weekend without everyone involved it would not be possible. Asher price represented British Judo & the Pinewood club at V8rious European and commonwe81th events throughout the year so a verywell done to him for his efforts. A special mention must go to every member of the club fortheir contribution towards retaining the Don Werner Cup for the third consecutive year- fantastic achievement th8t reflects the collective effort, commitment, and team spirit throughoutthe club. Very well done to everyone involved. Along with many other events from minors to senior competitions, the club has brought in a decent volume of medals and impressive wins over the period. It always nice to get medals but sometimes it doesn't truly reflect the performance or effort of the players and how hard they have trained for an event for them only to walk awaywith nothing otherthan experience. Club Development & Improvements: Although progress has been limited at times due to available time and funding, several important improvements have still been completed around the club this year. We have upgraded the Men's showers within the changing rooms which is a significant improvement form the condition they were in previously, they look great. We have also upgraded the boiler and heating system. Continued maintenance. painting. and improvementworks throughout the club overseen by Head Coach J8son. Inst811ation and upgrading of fire doors, which now look extremely smart and improve overall safety standards, security & reduced maintenance. There are always more tasks to do and improvements to be made and we wiLlwork through these as they arise to continue to help maintain and improve the club environment and f8cilities for all members. Flnances: The club remains f inancially stable thanks to membershi p fees, fundraising efforts, and community support. We currently sit in a positive position with 93k in Reserves. We have with the 2 main revenue streams comingfrom PJC Memberships160-70K per annuml PTU1£24K per annuml. We have lost the BIJ income as they have moved back to Farnborough. We are also in discussion with a charity called the Storyy group who are looking at hiringthe end of the buildingfor usage duringterm times on a4-5-year hire, this will prove to be a great source of income forthe clubforthe comingyears so we are keen to get this agreed by September 2026. We will continue to invest in the build ing, the equipment, and coaching development over the next year and LookingAhead: We aim to grow our membership further by promoting the club within schools and the local community. Continued focus will be Placed on coach education and player development. Plans are underwayfor more competition entries and inter-club exchanges to broaden player experionce, bringing in more open club visits and randoori nights. We will encourage all players to attend camps and club visits when arranged by the coaching team/s and Jason. l Know we are looking at running our own internal events for the beginnerslintermediates and to make these more of a regular event to gain valuable competition experience for our newyounger players. Thanks: I would like to say a big thanks to Abby Pirouz who has held the club treasurer role for the past 3 years and due to other commitments has decided that this will be her last yearso thanks you for all your help, fortunately we have Heather Chen stepping in to this role which is great news. I would like to thank our coaches for their time and efforts throughout the last year.
