Saint Mary and St George Coptic Orthc#Jox Church is an indivisible part of the Coptic Orthodox
Church of Egypt which has as its Supreme Head His Holiness the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of
the See of St. Mark. The authonty of His Holiness the Pope and the Holy Syn¢xI of the Coptic
Orthodox Church exiends to the enti￿ See of Saint Mark, l)oth in Egypt and abroad. Such authonty
cannot be changed. revoked, altered. defied or mc¥Jified.

On 11 November 2017, Saint Mary and Saint G￿e Copts'c Orthodox Church, become part of the
Coptic Orthodox Diocese of London.
The charity is managed by the Church Council conststrng ofthe Presiding Bishop. The Priests of the
Church and nol less than five Council Members, who shall be appointed from time to time by the
Di(Kesan Bishop or His Holiness the Pope being the highest authority in the Coptic Orthodox Church.
His Holiness the PoFe or the Di¢xesan Bishop may appoint in writir¥J. any person he delegates lo act
on hi$ behalf in this resFect.
All members of the Church Council are Trustees of the Charity, on ceasing to be a member of the
Church Council. that indmdual viill also cease to te a Trustee of the Charity.
The object of the charity is to prcrfnote the Coptic Orthcxjox Church in the Unit&Y lfj'ngdom. In
fvrtherance of this object the Trustees may provide and maintain places of public worship, cafry on
religious services, pay and provide for the housing of priests, hold ￿ligiOuS and other meetings in
connection wth the Coptic Orthodox Church. provide assistance for the needy in the United Kingdom
and abroad.

During the year, the youths of the church attended and organised conferences, retreats and trips. in
some cases in conjunction vrith other Coptic Churches in the UK and abroad.
They have Sunday Schcols, youth meeting8. prayer meetings. Bible ¥tudies, and Fwnd post
9raduale meetings.
The church has sports activrt*s aNI has football and tennis table tearns bthich play and compete
against teams of other Coptic Churches in the UK
The church is open most days of the week for ¢elelxats'ng the Divine Liturgy, prayer meetings.

Future Plans
The Church are stlll ralsing fund$ and actively Icoking to purchase a church building in East London
area lo ènable it to introduce services on Sundays and other days of the week.
