Activities

LEAH (Queens Award 2008) trains volunteers to befriend and teach English one-to-one in learners' homes in Kingston and Richmond. Users are mainly women from BMER groups who are unable to attend classes. LEAH also organises short courses, drop-ins and social events with embedded ESOL to assist users' integration. Volunteers are supported through tutor development workshops and extensive resources.

Objects: To Advance The Education Of Long-Term Residents From Ethnic Minorities And Others Who Need To Improve Their Literacy And Who Are Unable To Attend Adult Education Centres So That They May Learn Or Improve Their Command Of The English Language
