Achievements and Performance
Despite the challenges of the past couple of years, 2023 tumed out to be an exciting year for
the Church. Back in July 2021. following the govemment removal of the Covid-19 restrictions,
physical gathering and worship resumed at the church premises and a noticeable effect of the
pandemic was the reduction in the number of people physically attending for worship.
The following year 2022. the Church retumed to some of norn￿[ty, the Post covid
numbers of members arKI guests attending regular Sunday Servi￿ increased, but not back to
the same numbers as we had seen prior to the pandemic.
In 2023, all this was to thange and the year brought some rnuch-ne￿ relief. with Covid,
high inflation and the cost-of-living crisis receding further into the background. We experienced
signifi'cant progress and growth in the physical and s￿ritUal life of the church. During the year,
we experienced good growth in attendan￿ at vrt)rship, both physical and online services
March 2023 witnessed the promotion of a conscientious and dedicated Sister. in the person of
Sister Adaze Arubi. By the grace of God, she was elevated to become a member of GKS
women fellowship Commrttee (UK).
The book of Psalms states that ,Forpr(yn0t￿ cometh neither from the east, norfrom the
west, nor from the south. But God is the judge." he putteth down one, and setteth up another.,
(Psalm 75.6-7). We thank God Almighty for her promotion and it is our eamest prayer that
God Almighty help her in the effective discharge of her duties and performance in her new
role.
GKSR

The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the church is exposed to and are
satisfied that sufficiently robust systems are in place to manage these risks.
The principal risk identified by the trustees whidi the church is exposed to, is her continued
dependence on voluntary income. Our primary and most utilised mode of revenue collection
had been collection of tithes, offerings at our weekly Sunday Se￿iCe and via special events
popularly referred to as 'Launchings' where members and well-wishers would present their
financial gFfts. The church financEs are kept under review arKI trustees will continue to monitor
the yearly budgets and to adj.ust them as necessary in light of prevailing situation and
conditions.
Appropriate insurance cover arKI procedures are also in pla￿ to ensure Complian￿ with the
health and safety of members and visitors.
Future Develo

The trustees aim to continue with a regular programme of rna1ntenan￿ works and repairs, to
preserve and enhance the church pror* and facilities. In addition to this, the trustees will
also continue to explore different ways and options of furthering our charitable objectives in
and out of the community effectively and to engage in creating positive change in the moral
and spiritual dimate which refiects our Christian ethos and beliefs.
